Mike was born on January 2nd 1938 at Hollywood, California. Came to Seattle, Washington in 1940 with his mother and resided at 7701 13th S W on Holden Street in the Highland Park District.Mike went from K through 8th grade at Highland Park Grade School; his freshman year at Denny Jr. High; and his sophomore year at the Great West Seattle High School. He graduated from St. Martin's High School at Lacey, Washington on June 1st, 1956. He entered the US Air Force on Sept. 7, 1956 and was honorably discharged in San Antonio, Texas on Sept. 6, 1960. He served two years at a top secret intel location on Okinawa from 1957 to 1959 then returned to the state of Washington in 1965 and spent the next 40 years in that area mostly in the trucking business as a driver.Mike retired from the Teamsters Union on October 1, 1995 after six and a half years of employment with the BOEING Co. as a semi driver. He's a lifelong avid salmon fisherman, lifelong gym rat, a serious longtime classic car owner, and a forever patriot of the USA.

Grandfather and Me: An Angel's Kiss Poetry, is a collection of prose and poetry from two generations: Russel F. Hyde, born in London, England in 1889-my Grandfather; Merrilynn E. Wheeler, born in Fair Haven, VT in 1952. Grandfather never wrote a standard letter. He wrote in poetry to his sons at war; his daughters and their families, and to his two granddaughters, Donna and me. The verses are written from the heart and mind of two individuals that felt/feel deeply about God and the world He created for us to live in, love, embrace, and cherish.

It's a surprising combination of the illustrations of three animals that represent a collection of cautionary tales. The author counts on the creative imagination of the reader to grasp the full meaning of the three animals represented here: a boa constrictor, an elephant and a whale. The boa constrictor and the elephant are taken from the imaginative tale of St-Exupéry's "The Little Prince" where we find a boa constrictor swallowing an elephant that grown ups call a "hat." As to the whale, it's there to remind the reader of the Biblical whale that swallowed Jonah.It's a reminder of being in the belly of the beast. The cautionary tales in this book are thus represented as tales of the creative imagination that remind the reader that sometimes one needs to be cautious about what one does or hears. The author simply asks the reader to open one's mind to the fascination of imaginary tales that rival so called fact and reality. Children are most often sensitive to what grown-ups fail to decipher and understand.They see a boa constrictor swallowing an elephant while grownups see a hat.

The gang phenomenon is a major concern in the United States today as youth fight each other and victimize innocent people. The cost of law enforcement involved in dealing with gangs, investigating their crimes, and protecting the community is tremendous. Ethnic gangs throughout history have been notorious for violent behavior. Gangs fought to maintain their territory in the city much the same way that Chicano/Latino gangs fight to maintain their territory. The gang problem remains a serious community problem. Progress in dealing with it can only be made when the community-at-large, at the political and economic level, becomes involved.

"If Ya Wanna Know" is a fiction story that considers the attempt of a person, who is sworn to uphold the law, to steal the lead character's original songs during an auto accident. While the main character is hospitalized in a state of comatose, the thief attempts to publish the stolen songs. The thief must be exposed and the rightful owner recognized. Each song is woven throughout the story and a link to each song on YouTube is included in order to present the music as it was actually recorded in Nashville, TN.

This is another short and humorous story about Octrina, our clumsy little octopus who has a hard time managing all her eight arms. She wants to work during summer vacation at Lakeshore Camp.
