Mathematics plays a fundamental role in the life of human beings. It promotes logical and rational thinking and one's ability to analyze and to solve problems. It is needed in our daily life, and those who understand and can do mathematics will have significantly enhanced opportunities and options for shaping their future. Motivation contributes to the ability to solve problems since it will drive students to work harder for better performance. Effort is synonym for motivation, as an individual who shows greater effort is considered to be motivated, while one who is motivated will also show greater effort. This study found significant gender differences in motivation to learn mathematics between male and female secondary school students in Kenya. At school, mathematics teachers have an opportunity to close the motivational gap on gender beliefs and behaviour, and to challenge any underachievement in mathematics by boys and girls through instructional activities. This book suggests methods to help students improve on their self-concept and self-efficacy in mathematics.

Nowadays, growth has come at the expense of the environment and that is making our environment unlivable day by day. In such conditions, sustainable development will play an important role to push 'Go Green' among all the countries around the world for a better future. To join the processes of contributions in this global sustainable development agenda, the Institute of Development Studies and Sustainability (IDSS) at the United International University(UIU), Bangladesh organized the '2nd International Conference on Sustainable Development' on 15 - 17 February 2018. The aim of the conference was to identify the ways to sustainability and share the empirical knowledge based on research, practice, and education. This conference provided a unique opportunity to bring together stakeholders from government, knowledge institutions, academia, international agencies, NGOs, private development sector, and grassroots organizations to share practical solutions towards the achievement of more sustainable and inclusive societies. So, this work is a combination of some of the great ideas of that conference which will be a guideline for sustainable practice for all.

The word development is a household word today! The concept has been examined from a Theatre for Development perspective in this booklet. Development is put in a perspective meant to challenge readers to think out of the "box" and to relate to situations on the ground to widen and broaden the definitions of development beyond what the status quo is today. Ghana has all it takes to develop individuals consistently the broader populace, rural communities and our dear country Ghana (and all African Nations by extension) Theatre for development is a paradigm shift worth adopting in our contemporary world today.

Railways utilize lead acid batteries extensively on passenger's coaches for train lighting and air conditioning. They adopt 24 V as well as 110 V train lighting system on self-generating passengers coaches. At loco shed, Ajani Nagpur, per day 20 liters of distilled water have required for charging and maintenance. It has produced by utilizing 360 KWh electrical energy. This energy can be saved by adopting solar distillation system. Keeping this aim, an experimental prototype model has designed and fabricated onsite of loco shed to generate distilled water. The system produces 4 liters of water per day with a thermal efficiency of 27.21%. This Monograph demonstrates work in the concise form.

The book titled "The poor in pro-poor development intervention programme activities in Ghana" is an excellent tool for development studies suitable for those in academia and those in development practice. The expatiation on key development tools such as PRA, PAR, CDD, PLA, PPA, among others, some clear and intriguing reasons why the rural people in Ghana are generally poor, and other interesting and educative issues raised in this book, makes the book an essential tool for teaching and learning for all categories of development students and professionals in practice. The production of this book is timely and is highly recommended to all development training institutions to facilitate learning and skills acquisition particularly for professional practice along the development chain.

This work explores the career anchors and career path preferences of small third sector social enterprise operational manager, in order to develop a theoretical framework of third sector operational managers career anchors and career path preferences. Understanding of managers' career anchors will provide organisations with the ability to design an effective career path options that will match individual managers' career needs with organisational needs. This will increase the contribution of managers and commitment to their organisations as well as improve managerial retention. Through a case study of eight small third sector social enterprise organisations, this work explores the relationship between the career anchors of operational managers and their career path preferences. It was identified that third sector operational manager's career path preferences are influenced by public policy, organisational factors and individual career needs. The findings make an important contribution in the field of managerial career paths management in small third sector organisations and through exploring operational managers' career anchors which are not linked to individual monetary needs.

Development of new class of catalysts for the effective and green synthesis has always been a challenge for the researchers. Since heterocyclic chemistry depends both on homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysts, there is a scope for development of new catalysts. Keeping in view of the biological applications of heterocyclic compounds and for the development of greener methods of developing synthetic routes, magnetically separable nano nickel zinc ferrites have been applied for the synthesis of some heterocyclic compounds and their antibacterial activity had been studied. The Objectives of the Present Study 1. To synthesise Nano sized substituted spinel Nickel-Zinc Ferrites of the composition NixZn1-xFe2O4 x=0, 0.25, 0.5. 0.75 & 1 by sol-gel citrate precursor method. 2. To characterise the synthesized ferrites with FTIR, XRD, SEM, EDX, TEM and BET surface area techniques to interpret their structure and size. 3. To apply the synthesised ferrites as heterogeneous magnetically separable catalysts for the one-pot synthesis of ß-acetamido ketones. 4. To apply the synthesised ferrites as heterogeneous magnetically separable catalysts for the one-pot synthesis of ß-acetamido esters.
