The Google Web Toolkit (GWT) is a new easy way for Java developers to build Ajax web applications, using a simple system of "UI widgets," and it's gained a lot of popularity in the community. Google are pushing it very eagerly. There are a couple on Google Web Toolkit already, but this one goes further, teaching the ins and outs of developing with the Google Web Toolkit, before taking readers up to a higher level, including chapters on how to integrate GWT user interfaces with enterprise applications. It also includes reference sections at the end so readers can look up details quickly and easily.

636,95 kr. Speech Server can be used to voice-enable many .NET applications. Because of the support for ASP.NET Server controls, virtually existing web based application can be speech enabled with relative ease. Adding in telephony is slightly more complex but those with a basic understanding of telephony will find it fairly straightforward. The truth is that it's almost impossible to get away from Speech and DTFM based applications. The reason is that companies can save tremendous amounts of resources but monetary and human by automating systems with Speech and Telephony. But the catch is that such applications need to be well constructed and need to work well with the users, allowing them to do things they otherwise wouldn't be able to do (like get bank account balances at 3:00 Christmas morning). Poorly designed or implemented systems, like all poorly designed/implemented systems simply add inconvenience to what users are already having to do. As such, understanding what Speech Server and the tools can and can not do is imperative. Understanding how to properly configure and secure such applications is even more critical because without this knowledge, even getting started on the application may be difficult to impossible. This book gives that knowledge to the user, like no other book that is or will be available. The expected length of the book will be approximately 500 pages with extensive examples and code provided (which is necessary in this context since most of the audience will probably have had little experience with the technologies before this book). The main reason I think there's an audience is because Speech is getting increasingly popular and there are no other books on the subject. TOC:Introduction to Microsoft Speech Technologies.- Microsoft Speech Server.- Telephony.- Speech Server without Telephony.- Building an automated receptionist using the Speech SDK.- Adding Telephony support.- Adding a web interface.- Adding support for Windows Mobile® and Windows Smartphone® Devices.- Tying it all together.

They make maintaining and updating the content of a web site easier, giving the content contributors, not just the web team, the means with which to manage their own content. They are usually made up of a front-end editor for inputting content, a back-end system for storing the content, and a template mechanism to get the content onto the web site.

Ruby is presently one of the most discussed programming languages in computing today, offering an array of capabilities similar to Python, but also boasting an extremely popular Web-based framework known as Ruby on Rails. Pro Ruby is the first book to presume the reader already possesses knowledge in language fundamentals, and accordingly attempts to guide the reader to an even higher level of proficiency by introducing advanced Ruby programming concepts alongside sound developmental strategy.Pro Ruby discusses a number of intermediate and advanced topics such as project planning and requirements analysis, object-oriented design, and Ruby-based patterns. The book also delves into somewhat more concrete matters such as GUI development, databases, XML, and running Ruby on Windows. Together, the book's contents offer an interesting blend of Ruby-slanted development theory and Ruby-specific advanced language instruction. TOC:Ruby and Enterprise Development.- Project Planning.- Requirements Analysis.- Object-Oriented Design - The Ruby Way.- Design Patterns.- Refactoring.- Automation.- Programming Techniques.- GUI Programming.- Working with Databases.- Working with XML.- Ruby on Windows.
