The Empires of the End-Time are looked at through Daniel's telescopic lens, and the uncharted end-times and between-times of history are laid bare in Daniel's penetrating beam. Most conservative commentators interpret Daniel in retrospect; i.e. from the viewpoint of later times. They look at history as it subsequently occurred and finds the fulfilment of Daniel in the unfolding events of recorded history. However Charles Ozanne, himself a conservative, adopts an altogether different approach. He takes the view that to obtain a correct understanding of the prophecy of Daniel it must be seen in prospect; looking forward from Daniel's day. We will have a better understanding of the book if its predictions are interpreted prospectively, from the viewpoint of Daniel himself, and not retrospectively, from the viewpoint of later times. When this is done we have a better chance of grasping the prophet's meaning. As far as we are aware, no previous writer has consistently applied this approach to the book of Daniel and, as such, the student of prophecy will gain much fresh insight from Empires of the End-Time.

This book is not a commentary, but is an exposition of the Scriptures based on a detailed, systematic examination of the Word of God using what the author describes as the "scientific approach" i.e. an objective examination of a document without preconceived ideas and excluding the human element, or bias, as far as possible. The Scriptures are explained by the Scriptures, rather than by what commentators may have said about this document. The author presents the steps which he pursued in his objective examination of the Bible, taking the reader with him along the path which he himself followed. From Genesis to Revelation he traces out God's Divine Plan and seeks to show from the Scriptures how it will be realized.

'The Will of God' is an enormous subject and this book deals with it clearly and thoroughly. It follows 'The Will of God' chronologically from Genesis to Revelation, paying special attention top where it changes. In the New Testament it carefully distinguishes between God's will for Jews and God's will for Gentiles. Often it is the same, but not always. Having done this, what has been discovered is then applied to issues of the 21st Century. "This last section is so valuable that everyone should read it twice."

Surprisingly, the New Testament does not open with Gabriel visiting Mary in Galilee and telling her she is to be the mother of the Son of God. Rather we see Gabriel in Jerusalem, in the temple, telling an old priest, Zechariah, that in their old age he and his wife are to have a son, who is to go before the Lord "in the spirit and power of Elijah". This child was to be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother's womb, and was to turn many of the children of Israel to the Lord their God. So it is not surprising when he was born the neighbours asked "What then will this child be?" This book answers that question.
