  • af Blaise Pascal
    213,95 kr.

2019 Reprint of 1960 Edition. Edited with an introduction and notes by Louis Lafuma. Translated by John Warrington. Full facsimile of the original edition, not reproduced with Optical Recognition software. The Pensees ("Thoughts") is a collection of fragments on theology and philosophy written by 17th-century philosopher and mathematician Blaise Pascal. Pascal's religious conversion led him into a life of asceticism, and the Pensees was in many ways his life's work. The Pensees represented Pascal's defense of the Christian religion. The concept of "Pascal's Wager" stems from a portion of this work. The Pensees is a collection of philosohical fragments, notes and essays in which Pascal explores the contradictions of human nature in pscyhological, social, metaphysical and - above all - theological terms. Mankind emerges from Pascal's analysis as a wretched and desolate creature within an impersonal universe, but who can be transformed through faith in God's grace.

  • af William Beeston
    143,95 kr.

2019 Reprint of 1853 Edition. Full facsimile of the original edition, not reproduced with Optical Recognition software. Beeston's scholarship and his peculiar line of investigation enabled him to adduce some strong evidence that the Roman Empire was of Edomite origin. The grounds upon which he conducted his enquiry are Jewish tradition, Hebrew and Phoenician etymology and Scripture prophecy. The work is of significance to Black Hebrew Israelites (also called Black Hebrews, African Hebrew Israelites, and Hebrew Israelites), groups of Black Americans who believe that they are descendants of the ancient Israelites. Black Hebrews adhere in varying degrees to the religious beliefs and practices of both Christianity and Judaism. One belief often expressed is a belief that Europeans are descendants of Israel's twin brother Esau, also known as Edom. (Genesis 25:25).

  • af Ernest Holmes
    213,95 kr.

2018 Reprint of 1960 First Edition. Full facsimile of the original edition. Not reproduced with Optical Recognition software. This is a book of verse to inspire those who wander in a desert of defeat, unhappiness and loneliness. It opens a door into the hidden places of your mind and gives you faith in yourself-a faith you thought had been destroyed forever. It tells you how to recover your sense of security, a felling of being right, superior and happy NOW because you find a way out. It is a book of experience written out of the hearts and minds of real spiritual teachers who have felt what you feel and who have helped others to a new and happier life through the practice of Science of Faith. It also contains the biographies of the Great Teachers and Masters of history who revealed God in man and the way to a life of freedom, peace and abundance. The basic teaching is that man does not suffer from the Will of God, but from a breakdown of his own understanding. Those who are searching a higher spiritual experience will find guidance toward the attainment of cosmic consciousness; and every reader will feel better, think better and be better for having read this book.
