164,95 kr. As a young boy growing up a couple miles from a small town and having a father who had cancer of the throat and heart problems we didn't have much money. All through life I worked on improving my life and proud of what I have done without any college. Working for RCA on three different programs, I was given a chance to learn a lot and given lots of responsibilities during my life as you will see in the book. Growing up outside a small town of 2,500 was a challenge. We lived about 2 miles from town with 7 1/2 acres of land with most of it in trees except about one acre around the house. We had at times a cow for milk and a pig for meat. We always had lots of chickens laying eggs. We always had big gardens which I got to weed but my mother would pick the vegetables. A neighbor boy would come over sometimes and we would sneak into the garden and eat some fresh peas out of the pod or sneak some strawberries. In school I took a lot of classes that helped me get my first job in Alaska as a Secretary. I had a lot of fun in school and was very popular as I have a great sense of humor which I still like making people laugh. For the last 25 years I have put the Red Suit on at Christmas. I was the official Santa in Leavenworth, Wa. for five years. I rode in a horse drawn carriage into the downtown area. I would get my picture taken hundreds of times per day. I am still very active. I am on the activities committee where we live. I do hope you enjoy the book as I have had a fun life.

188,95 kr. Humans have wondered for centuries about aliens, but nothing has been proven until now. These aliens in your future were a very sport-loving race that did not come in peace. They came to hunt for sport, and humans fought the war. Now you can prepare! Many believe with all the sin in the world, this was the Lord's way of cleansing the earth to start over as He did with Noah. Harry grew up in the northern lower Peninsula of Michigan. He frequently took hiking and camping trips carrying his shotgun, accompanied by his dog. Also, there were several trips to Canada. He went alone twice, taking just his canoe, backpack with supplies, and trusty shotgun. On his local camping trips, he preferred this high ground in the middle of a large cedar swamp. Harry always wondered if there were alien lifeforms, and this book from your future confirms this.

Humor played an important part in my life growing up because some of my family members are comedians. We believe that laughter is the best medicine. An outstanding chaotic experience occurred, when I was present at the collapsing of the second tower of the World Trade Center on September, 11th 2001. The police officer saw me and told me to run or I would be killed. I heeded the urgent warning and ran to escape the crumbling debris. I walked for three and a half hours over the Brooklyn Bridge to get home. I was covered with white dust and hardly recognizable. I thank God for being with me that day and guiding me to safety. Dramatic experiences were numerous, such as scenes leading to the Inauguration of President Barack Obama. At any given day, there was drama In the New York subway. Humor and drama occured just riding the trains to and from work in New York City. Nelcia Smith migrated from St. Vincent and the Grenadines, to the United States of America in 1986. Never have our people been so unable to perceive what went wrong, why our culture seems to be coming unglued, what are the real threats facing us as citizens and our nation, or what We the People can do to impact a change in our nation's downward descent. "Looking Through a Class Darkly" will help us to see things more clearly as we seek to find the truths that will redeem us and our Republic. In this book you will read how: - Our nation went from the best to perhaps the worst of times in our living memory - Weak political leadership in Washington following 9/11 undermined our Republic - Unelected establishment elites have expropriated power by destroying the Constitution - Our free press sold its soul and abandoned its mandate to hold the powerful accountable - We the People and the States can save the Republic and weather the gathering storms John Whitmore Jenkins has spent the last fifty-nine years in business on the cutting edge of the most dramatic changes in our history. 268,95 kr. The story of a young man leaving home for the first time to experience life beyond the small conservative Midwest town in South Dakota. The narrative expresses the young man's thoughts and actions on the new experiences and people that cross his path during his time in the military in other countries and the Vietnam War. There are many tales of combat and soldiers' experiences by the author. These stories express strength and will power. Will power and faith walk hand and hand through injury and death as a show of strength in body and soul to live or die. The living helping the wounded and dying call on the same strengths of will power and faith to be able to help someone and comfort them during their painful ordeal. The book is honest and blunt about the issues. The author grew up in a small conservative Midwest town in South Dakota. After high school he decided to enter the army to get training in a field he could use after returning home. He also needed the educational benefits to attend college. In the army he had an eye opening experience. He met many different people from different parts of the US that did not have his same values. He also observed different people from different countries and their values. He made a point to share his values and learn from others their customs and values. This gave him an insight to how to act and react with the people around him. From this point on this learning experience guided him through his life experiences when interacting with other people. His conservative upbringing projected kindness, understanding and a tolerance of other people's differences.

165,95 kr. In his book that is at times poignant, at times provocative, and always laden with humor, author Jim Reddy introduces the reader to each of the many animals that have called his rural 20-acre property their home over the past few years. Through his recounting of their quirky personalities and often-hilarious antics, he brings to light the lessons they taught him, and how they each helped him remember his humanity during one of the most stressful and tumultuous times our nation has had to endure. Throughout, Jim also takes humorous aim at the people, events, trends, and challenges that have dominated and polarized our society including CRT, cancel culture, new pronouns, men in women's bathing suits, bright orange former presidents, and very dim current presidents. See what I mean? That last bit was an example of Jim's humor right there. Really. Jim Reddy is a former healthcare administrator with over 30 years experience managing medical practices and hospital imaging centers. In 2020 he left the field and he and his partner, Katherine, began dedicating their time and energy to caring for the many lost, stray, abused, or otherwise unwanted animals that had come into their life since they moved to their 20-acre property in rural America. He credits these wonderful creatures and their quirky personalities with helping him maintain his (questionable) sanity and- more importantly- his humanity during a time of unprecedented chaos and craziness in our country since the arrival of covid. His writing style and wit have been noted by such luminaries as his mother and his agent with accolades like "Best penmanship I ever saw!" and "My son is such a good boy!" Actually, his mother is his agent. But she did say those things.

188,95 kr. After the catastrophe of 9/11, the U.S. invaded Afghanistan, but the superpower with its powerful NATO allies left the war-torn country to a few thousand militants after fighting for two decades. Meanwhile, the U.S selected and backed Afghan leaders and warlords also betrayed their country and fellow citizens, which is the tragedy of the century. Why has nation-building in Afghanistan been so turbulent? What was the prevalent thing in the two wars in Afghanistan that resulted in both the same? What microtones-mistakes did Washington make in its longest war? And, who, when, how, and why did design the collapse of the Republic of Afghanistan? In the documentary, Azad documented not only the secretes behind the collapse but also provided the critical aspects of the failed U.S. policies in Afghanistan. He identifies the fragile strategies, unstable political structures, regional and international powers' rivalry over geopolitics, regional connectivity, and economy in Afghanistan. Najib Azad is one of the many Afghan evacuees who recently resettled in the United States. Azad is a well-known face to those following Afghanistan in the news: he was the spokesman for Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, the former Afghan president, and a senior political and legal advisor to NAMSA/NATO in Afghanistan. He has also been a political, legal, and social analyst, commentator, and expert for various news organizations, including VOA, BBC, Al-Jazeera, India Times, WION, DW, WION, Radio Liberty, and others. His foot had touched something, solid but not hard. His mind flashed with images of wild animals cornered in dark spaces-rabid raccoons, possums, badgers? But these were animals from his mother's stories of Virginia, not of the city, not of Boston. Sam wanted to turn and look but held still. He decided to move his foot back again. He felt the resistance, and again, there was the growl. It was gravelly, rising from some animal depth. It was not a small animal. What could it possibly be? Sam couldn't stop himself from turning...It was a dog, and it was hurt... Sam could see scraped skin on its legs and patches on its coat where the fur had been scorched. Burns, that was it! The animal had been caught in the fire!'Sam was transfixed. There was something all magnificent, menacing and terribly wrong in the sight. This animal had crawled in here to die. Sam suddenly realized that his fear was gone. The absence of fear thrilled him. But he was also sobered by an equally new and demanding feeling of responsibility'.Scarboy... the story of an extraordinary German shepherd's journey through the lives of four souls in culturally-torn late 1960s America - a hippie poet, a black boy, a racist cop, and an ailing musical prodigy - and how he changes their lives forever.Rip Pauley is a former Hollywood screenwriter now living in South Carolina. "Scarboy" is his second novel.

When mass censorships and cutoffs don't work to keep his works of writing from getting into the hands of the public, a regular man hunt for Nico begins. Proclaim the truth and do not be silent through fear. -Catherine of Siena Sebastian King grew up in North America. A novelist, journalist, and short story writer, he likes to write on mild controversies from a largely conservative view. He continues to read, write, collect books and is not much of a TV person. He believes in the traditional American values and ways of life established by the nation's founders. Hopefully others well like his books as much as he desires.

188,95 kr. Immigration and racism are contentious issues in many societies. This book deals, in part, with these two controversies through the experiences of the Japanese Americans. No other second-generation ethnic group is given the kind of recognition achieved by the Nisei (second-generation Japanese Americans). But it was a perilous journey, fraught with endless discrimination, questioning of loyalty, and even confinement in concentration camps. Yet they were able to achieve remarkable success in politics and made significant advances in American society. Although thoroughly assimilated, they kept alive their rich cultural heritage. America is a country with diverse cultures, and this diversity is to be celebrated and not feared, for herein lies the strength of America. The narrative begins with a historical perspective and ends with an observer-participant view of recent events. This is a story that needs to be told. Minoru Yanagihashi was brought up in the multicultural Hawaiian environment. Early on, he developed an interest in learning about his Japanese heritage and a desire to share this knowledge with others. He hold degrees from the University of Hawaii Manoa (BA), University of Washington (MLS), University of California, Berkeley (MA), and University of Michigan (PhD). His interest includes Japanese electoral politics and foreign policy. In recent years, he has focused on the role of Japanese Americans. He is a charter member of Pan-Asian Community Alliance, Japan-America Society of Tucson, and the Southern Arizona Japanese Cultural Coalition. OTHER BOOK BY AUTHOR Kumu Hula: Challenging Journey of a Hula Master, published by Xulon Press, tells the story of one aspect of Hawaiian culture-the hula. The Japanese embracement of hula is an example of the globalization of this dance form and reveals how cultural interchange takes place.

188,95 kr. This book summarizes twenty-six church services that were attended in Lancaster city and county; in York county, where our home church is located; and two were in Pittsburgh two hundred and fifty miles west of our home in Lancaster. Eight of the summaries are for our home church, Gateway Church International. Four of the summaries are for the Worship Center in Leola, a church built on singing praises to our Creator. Six summaries are for three of the nineteen Lives Changed By Christ campuses. The basic format of the summaries is to detail the worship songs done during the service providing up to eight lines of lyrics for many of these songs. Then to detail the sermon, especially the specific bible verses referenced. Sometimes there were special events like baptisms. On a Wednesday night gathering we were blessed to see the movie 'Before the Wrath.' You will see little personal data here. All credit goes to the Great I Am for this book, God on the Move in Lancaster, PA, as well as for my four other Christian books: Why Jesus Returned; God's Children Step Forth; God's Lessons at the 2010 Chilean Mine Rescue; and God the Creator of Science, Technology and the U.S. Coast Guard.
