- A Journey Home To Walkamile, Texas
213,95 kr. A novel imbedded in the South that is both compelling and intriguing in focus. "Whatever our true origins--there is a bit of 'Walkamile' in all of us. For those who would deny this as fact--they are, in the long run, the lesser for it. The admission of such an ownership is the inner heart of the Southern pathos in all of its intricate patterns. Thus, these adherents are, in the long run, the greater for it!" (Henry W. Gurley)

- Then and Now
173,95 kr. After reading the first three of his Pungo Tales books, people started sending Walt Whitehurst some of their writings and it seemed appropriate to publish PUNGO TALES FOUR: THEN AND NOW. As he began to write, Walt started to think of other stories that have become a part of this book. Who knows how many other tales could be discovered? Maybe it's time for some other potential writer to look for those tales and put them together in a book. It is good to share stories so that other people can enjoy them. You may also like: PUNGO TALES; PUNGO TALES 2; PUNGO TALES 3. Pungo is a community within the city of Virginia Beach, Virginia, and is the hometown of Walter A. Whitehurst and many of the characters he writes about.

343,95 kr. When I wrote the poem, "Prop Me Up On The Leaning Side", I shared it with my cherished friends, Dean Lindsey, and his wife Carol. Dean, a wit extraordinaire, suggested a part of the poem's title should be the title of my next book since Dean and Carol are my unofficial caretakers. Thus, "Prop Me Up, Lord!" saw its first light. In my late 70s, handicapped, no longer driving and on a Quad-cane, I can sympathize with the leaning barn on the book's cover. Over the years I am sure it has been assailed with the slings and arrows of Mother Nature, as I have with the inevitable process of aging. My poems therefore are petitions, praise and thanksgiving to the Good Lord for being always at my side during my journey. And my journey has included my recent return to Christ. I have been blessed with a gift from God allowing me to pen these poems. My hope is that just one line of one poem may touch someone's heartstrings. If this happens, then I am rich beyond measure.

343,95 kr. Henry W. Gurley of Houston, Texas, is one of America's greatest poets of this century. He has been writing poetry most of his life and has been published abroad and in the U.S. by various magazines, book publishers and companies. He has been a featured author among several venues, and continues to write at a voracious pace. In this particular volume, Gurley splits the book into two sections: one section with poetry about nature and one section about his experience with God. His poetry flows smoothly and graciously and will bless the reader with each line.In this editor's estimation, Gurley is the equivalent of a modern aged Robert Frost.
