Beyond Here and Other Poems is a poetry collection penned over last few years. The poems are my responses to various situations and events that took place around and left impressions. We belong to this earth and exist over a time and space. Events of life create many emotions like joy, love, victory, loss, fear, separation, sadness, pain, gratitude, inspiration, curiosity, attachments, devotion etc. Sometime, the cause and effect do not appear related, baffling the onlooker. I have captured as well as extrapolated my feelings in few lines like a sculptor who attempts to chisel out a statue from a raw stone. These poems are not figments of imaginations expressed in words. There are individuals inside the book who are in dialogue with me.

Acupressure and Magnetotherapy are two alternate systems of medicine which are drugless, non­invasive and have no side effects. They complement each other so well that they can be used together simultaneously for better results. These therapies are effective for both healing and preventing ailments. This self-help book is a guide to good health and wellness using these therapies. These alternate systems require one to follow the laws of nature, irrespective of one's job profile, routine and working hours. The book provides both an introduction to acupressure and magnetotherapy as well as advice on: (a) proper breathing (b) balanced diet (c) proper sleep (d) regular elimination (f) adequate exercise (g) laughter for coping with stress. Since the body is a whole unit, the holistic approach is emphasized.

The hopes fostered by the end of the Cold War have been shattered, in this troubled beginning of the XXI century, both by a new kind of extreme violence, transnational terrorism, and-more recently-by a global economic downturn with no end yet in sight. Facing these challenges, world governance suffers from the inadequacy both of political theory and of institutions. This book invites us to go back to basics, i.e. to revisit the very foundations of political and moral theory, and reconsider in the light of the present global predicament the relationship between ends and means, the concept of liberty, the precept of solidarity. Terrorism is a test case of our capacity to look beyond our narrow political options in order to attain the common goal of banning it legally, politically and morally. In order to do that, we will have to be able to define terrorism in a way that recognizes it as distinct from other forms, sometimes equally repulsive but different, of violence. It is an effort that requires at the same time ethical sensitivity and a new kind if non-ideological realism. The same effort that must allow us to build and strengthen new international institutions, from the economy to international criminal law.

The idea about a book on Black Money took birth while media was full of reports about money kept in Swiss banks and other tax havens. The reports became more focussed when Indian Government received a list of Indians holding accounts abroad particularly in the Geneva branch of the HSBC bank from the French Government. Many NGO groups also gave some estimates about the money kept by Indians abroad. The main opposition party BJP was very vocal in demand for taking action against those holding illegal accounts and foreign banks. In India it is no secret that black money plays a major role in national economy, particularly in sectors like real estate where not many transactions are complete without use of black money. The focus of the book, however, is different it does not aim at making any attempt to find out how black money is parked or stored instead it looks on how it is generated. It points out how every citizen even the honest ones who while making day-to-day purchases help in generating black money by not insisting on a bill or cash memo. The study points out how counterfeit and smuggling are growing world-wide and are hurting national economies including India and in turn financing anti-national activities like terrorist activities, criminal gangs and Mafia.

In this book she has compiled, authentic recipes, taken from family elders and friends. The easy to read and understand format of this book will enable cooking aficionados to prepare these simple yet delectable recipes from Bengal.

I wrote these poems during a lifetime that stretched from the neem trees of Agra, the shimmering lakes of Agartala and the dancing warriors of Mokokchung to my many homes across the country. However, what remain central to my life experience are my recollections of the deodar and pine-covered hills of Simla and Bhajji House, home to my grandparents. It was our refuge between my father's frequent transfers to different places.
