This story was initially inspired by the diary of a landlord. It depicts the life of a group of Chinese people from the mainland who came to mid-continental USA. The cultural collisions and frictions generated seemingly endless vicissitudes of their life, endowing them particular imprints. Eventually they managed to live and work in peace and contentment in the United States until disturbed unexpectedly by the rush to move back to China about ten years later. Just a reminder, there are places in the story appearing as a seemingly slip of the pen, but they are faithful depictions of their way of life in the United States.
