Everybody has stories. About silly things they've done. About their first love. Or their greatest love. Or their worst nightmare. Or greatest fear. Many of us never write the stories down. We all think that no one really wants to hear them. Or the pace of life leaves us little time for what seems like an indulgence. After all, we say to ourselves, we'll never forget. Yet, somewhere along the line, memories fade. Events blur into each other. As life happened to me, I wrote many of the stories down, mostly for my own amusement. Okay, I really fantasized that one day they would be of interest to a large audience of eager readers. I no longer have those fantasies. I really only know ten people. But after reading a memoir by a well-known celebrity, I was inspired to collect all of my stories and weave them into my own memoir. Hence this book. Life happens to all of us. And in one way or another, the stories we tell reveal much about the tapestry of our individual lives.

Aurora Weeks is at a crossroads in her career as a journalist and broadcaster. Her political affairs television show has run its course and, she isn't sure what her next step will be. Until a chance phone call from a woman in Ireland who might be a distant relative changes everything. Aurora finds herself digging into her Irish Roots and uncovering a mystery surrounding the killing of her great-grandfather by the notorious Black and Tans. Determined to find out more, Aurora travels to Ireland and uncovers a story of betrayal, murder and the politics of Ireland today. Are things in Ireland that much more different than they were 100 years ago?
