The book gathers some of the most important theories of matching, and guides the reader to the discovery of the practice of Market Design. The field of Matching Theory is devoted to study and solve allocation problems into matching markets, where prices and payments cannot be used, and agents¿ preferences are the discriminants. The assignments' solutions lie at the crossing of Economics, Mathematics and Computational Science, and consist of mechanisms that have the strength to be tailored and implemented into real-world contexts. The economist becomes an engineer who uses theoretical tools for designing, and practically building, efficient markets for bettering the well-being of all the agents involved. The book shows that in Economics there is more than banks, money and profit, and honors the research work for which L. S. Shapley and A. E. Roth were awarded the Nobel Prize for Economic Sciences in 2012. It is suggested to anyone who wants to discover how Economics can serve the community welfare.

The ¿Goal¿ of my research is to analyze the effects of public debt and to work out the mechanisms that make public effect the real side of an economy, using modern models of endogenous economic growth theory. My analysis starts with the intertemporal budget constraint of the government to which the government must operates on. The condition when the public debt is sustainable is defined by ¿public spending¿ and ¿public revenues¿ ignoring the central bank of an economy in the majority of cases. Governments should not rely on central banks to reduce public debt through money creation since central banks are independent and there is no obligation for them to assist government in pursuing sustainable debt policies.

At the end of the Academic Year, and before graduating in Business & Management, I had the opportunity to serve a three-month internship in Deloitte Italy, professional services firm that is part of the homonymous multinational network DTTL. I worked as Audit Analyst, having the chance to know and understand the audit activity, experiencing an approach based on accurate procedures and deep knowledge of the clients, of the market in which they conduct their business and of the correlated risks.

The main purpose of our study is to determine the optimal portfolio choice of investors in the Nigerian Financial Market, in an attempt to see what proportion of their wealth they dedicate to stocks and Fixed Income Securities (FIS) under the financial market context in which they face, in order to see how their decision impact the development of Nigeria financially speaking. To achieve this purpose, Monthly data of an index (S&P BMI) and some Fixed Income Securities (FIS) like the 10 years FGB, T-Bills of 91 days, 12 Months DR, 6 Month DR, 3 Month DR and 1 Month DR have been collected over 7 years (2010-2016) were collected from the Central Bank of Nigeria website and online through the Data Stream Thomas Reuters. The Mean-Variance Approach was therefore used with the aim of determining the optimal portfolio composition of investors in six scenarios, where the S&P BMI was confronted respectively to each of the FIS. Nonetheless, in 70% of the scenarios viewed above the utility function was constant meaning that it was almost not affected by the investors¿ level of risk tolerance and the optimal portfolio was mainly formed by nearly a 100% of Fixed Income Securities.

Communication takes place among speakers on the assumption of sameness of meaning-related concepts. However, belonging to the same linguistic and cultural community does not imply that we ¿mean¿ the same or that we ¿share¿ the same conceptual or mental image. When women and men living in the same community and sharing the same culture talk about peace, do they talk about the same concept? If not, are their differences in interpreting peace gender-based or culture-based? This book investigates the meaning of peace in South African and Italian teenagers. Teenagers represent a far easier category of informants to be compared nowadays, in a globalised world where access to internet, television, mass-media and music favours a process of cultural homogenisation. Despite socio-cultural differences South African and Italian teenagers¿ needs and expectations, personality and generational conflicts typical of their age are likely to be the same to a great extent.

The objective of seismic acquisition is provide an image of the geological structure of the subsurface; this is done by the study of echoes generated by artificial sources. Final result can be conditioned by the presence of multiples reflection, multiples are energy that has been reverberated in a layer. Surface-related multiples can be defined as those multiples which do not exist anymore if the surface of the earth (or sea) becomes transparent to acoustic energy. In this thesis will be treated the multiple suppression methodology denominate as ¿Surface-Related Multiple Elimination (S.R.M.E)¿.The peculiarity of this methodology is estimate the multiples event from the data itself. This is quantified by selecting a common source (xk,xs) gather and the measurements from a common receiver gather (xr,xk) and combining them by convolution process (Vershuur, 1992). Repeating this process for all receivers multiples will be estimate and then adaptively subtracted from the data. The objective of this work is understand the theoretical aspect of S.R.M.E methodology and apply it on a real case. From a 1-D synthetic model to its extension of 2-D.

Mercury is the innermost planet of the solar system and the eighth in size and mass. Its closeness to the Sun and its smallness make it the most elusive of the planets visible to the unaided eye. Until the last part of the 20th century, Mercury was one of the least-understood planets, and even now the shortage of information about it leaves many basic questions unsettled. Indeed, the length of its day was not determined until 1960s, and, even after the flybys of the Mariner 10 probe, the surface of the planet had not been completely observed. In 1990s, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and the European Space Agency (ESA) developed two independent missions to Mercury. MESSENGER (MErcury Surface, Space ENvironmentm GEochemestry, and Ranging), selected by NASA in July 1999 has been orbiting about Mercury since March 11, 2011. The ESA dual-spacecraft mission BepiColombo will be inserted in orbit about Mercury in 2022. Both missions aim to determine Mercury¿s deep interior that is a crucial information to understand the formation and evolution of the solar system.

Green economy represents the focus of this work, as it is currently growing stronger and permeating different sectors of industry, production and services. However, it does not just refer to economic sectors: the green transition runs throughout society and environment as well and it constitutes a whole new progressive model heading to the concept of sustainable development. This work was inspired by an internship at ¿Città Metropolitana di Torinö, which is promoting a new European project called ¿A.P.P. VER. ¿ Apprendere per Produrre Verde¿. This context constituted the opportunity to enter the green world, as the A.P.P. VER. project is moving through different sectors, as industries and school education. The aim of the project is to modify educational schedules towards a green perspective, to ease students during their school-work alternation sessions and to raise environmental awareness not only inside schools, but also throughout all the territory in which they operate, in order to increase public participation and action in favor of the environment.

The theme of this book is the ¿Inclusive Education¿, it is inherently important in the present society, where people live longer. Health care and long term welfare are essential in the prospect of a longer life expectancy, trying to avoid a substantial impact on the cost of public healthcare and for the families. The theme becomes very relevant if we take in account the life of people with disabilities, with different levels of physical and psychic dependence. The authors of this book believe in this: another society is possible, it can grow taking in account the characteristics of groups and individuals with special needs and planning ways to help on these needs.

From a managerial perspective, it is pivotal to properly understand and master business analysis. An integral and essential subsection is financial statement analysis which incorporates the analysis of a firm¿s strategy, financial position, performance and business environment. The ability to individualize certain patterns, through financial analytical tools, allows the management to improve the decision-making process and reduce the degree of uncertainty . Dell¿s comprehensive case analysis describes and illustrates how financial analytical techniques are applied in the evaluation process and how important it is to accurately understand the differences and implications between the standard GAAP statements and the reformulated versions. Traditional measurement tools combine operating and financial elements and fail to distinguish different sources of profitability. Reformulated statements thoroughly explain the firm¿s operating, financing and investing strategy and allow to align financial statements with the firm¿s operating activities.

This book lies in the field of Legal Translation Studies. It aims at filling in a gap on the language and structure of the occluded genre of written pleadings before the European Court of Human Rights, concentrating on the legal style markers and their translation. The study does not aim at an exhaustive description but rather at signalling the structural and distributional tendencies in the phraseological profile of written pleadings. The results contain a list of phraseological units that are typical of this genre. On the theoretical level, the book supplements the rather scant information about the language and genre of written pleadings at the ECtHR. On the practical level, the results are oriented at legal practitioners who have to draft such documents and may be of use to Russian-to-English and Italian-to-English legal translators. On a more general level, the book may be useful for the researchers interested in the language of human rights and the linguistic regime of the European Court of Human Rights.

This survey outlines the discussion on the controversial effects of robots and artificial intelligence as the core drivers responsible for major future disruptions in economies, which is particularly relevant to the future of employment. We essentially focus on labour markets and income generation. We consider the multifaceted implications of these emerging technologies, classifying the negative outcomes under the framework of classical innovation, while enhancing the positive results through the lens of a Neo-Schumpeterian approach. Concerning the influence of robotics on education and society, we analyse the education system and social issues and propose possible policies. This survey provides an overview concerning the current debate, highlighting the arguments of replacement vs. compensation, which we label as the Janus face of robotics and artificial intelligence.

Organizations, in order to gain competitive advantage in the market, are forced to be innovative. As many researches emphasize, innovation is strictly correlated with creativity. For these reasons, introducing a creative individual within the organization¿s context can enhance the company¿s innovation capacity. The artist¿s creativity is an important source for businesses that aim at generate innovation in their sector. The encounter of the world of business and the world of art can create benefits for all the stakeholders involved. However, it is not always easy for the two parts to overcome this challenge by their own. The people involved in the project can feel exposed to risks because the result of artistic interventions is uncertain. For these reasons an intermediary figure exists, which manages the dialogues, sets the rules and monitors the collaboration between artists and organizations. This is the art and business broker who works as a bridge between the two worlds that sometimes seem to be distant or even incompatible.
