- A Christian Perspective on Euthanasia and Assisted Suicide
208,95 kr. This is a comprehensive study of euthanasia and assisted suicide. It traces the historical debate, examines the legal status of such activity in different countries and explores the political, medical and moral matters surrounding these emotive and controversial subjects in various cultural contexts. The key advocates and pioneers of this agenda-driven movement (such as the late Jack Kevorkian, popularly known as "Dr. Death" and Philip Nitschke, founder of Exit International) are profiled. Not only are the elderly and disabled becoming increasingly vulnerable but children, psychiatric patients, the depressed and those who are simply tired of life are now on a slippery slope into a dystopian nightmare. The spotlight is brought to bear on the Netherlands, in particular, where palliative care and the hospice movement are greatly underdeveloped as a result of legalization. These dubious "services" are now offered as part of "normal" medical care in Holland where it is deemed more cost-effective to be given a lethal injection. The vital role of physicians as healers in society must be preserved and the important but neglected spiritual dimension of death must be explored. Thus a biblical view of human life is presented. Death and bereavement are universal phenomena and people of all faiths and those of none have a legitimate right to comment. However, the historic Christian tradition is struggling to be heard in the clamor for personal autonomy and civil liberties in a multi-cultural society that is becoming increasingly secular. This work provides an ethical framework in which euthanasia and assisted suicide can be evaluated. These issues are on the radar indicating a collision course with Christian values. It is time for Christians to be alert and to present the case that these are not satisfactory solutions to legitimate end-of-life concerns.

- The Great Commission of Making Disciples
153,95 kr. After the apostle Paul had done some tent making in Corinth with Aquila and Priscilla, Luke tells us at Acts 18:5, "when Silas and Timothy came down from Macedonia, Paul began devoting himself completely to the word, solemnly testifying to the Jews that Jesus was the Christ." We note "Paul began devoting himself completely." Why more so than before? Verses 9 and 10 go on to say, "the Lord said to Paul in the night by a vision: 'Do not be afraid any longer, but go on speaking and do not be silent; for I am with you, and no man will attack you in order to harm you, for I have many people in this city.'" We too have similar reasons for devoting ourselves 'more completely to the Word of God.' Yes, unquestionably, God has "many people" in all the cities throughout the world, including our community. These ones need to be discovered and 'taught everything Jesus commanded.' The wait for Jesus' second coming will not last forever, so we need to be awakened to our responsibility of proclaiming biblical truths, teaching, and making disciples of those who have a receptive heart.

- How Are We to Understand the Work of and the Indwelling of the Holy Spirit?
153,95 kr. How are we to understand the indwelling of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit? Can we Scripturally say that the Holy Spirit dwells in us in a different way from that of the Father and the Son? The author, Edward D. Andrews builds a case from the Scriptures on just how the Holy Spirit operates upon the Christian. How are we to understand the work of the Holy Spirit? How is the Holy Spirit active in our birth? How does the Holy Spirit bear witness with our spirit that we are children of God? How does the Holy Spirit make intercession for us? How does the Holy Spirit change us from glory to glory or give life to our mortal bodies? How does the Holy Spirit give us faith, enable us to enjoy a new birth, give us light, wisdom and understanding, convert us, open our eyes, save and sanctify us, set us free from sin, impart a divine nature, or preserve or give us life, i.e., quicken us? These questions and far more will be answered in THE HOLY SPIRIT AND THE CHRISTIAN.

- Hearing the Voice of the Homeless
188,95 kr. Come journey with me into the world of the homeless. It began with blankets that led me to a park bench and an incredible man who stole my heart. Sit with me as I visit with a registered sex offender who became changed by grace. Listen as I visit with a man who took a blade to his body, and to a young man who used tattoos to hide his pain. Meet the lady whose abusive father broke all of her fingers, and a young lady whose father beat her with a two-by-four. Meet these and others, and discover the sweet souls buried beneath their outer self. God provided me a glimpse of what He sees. At times, it was overwhelming, and at times inspirational. Whether from under the bridge or the downtown park, so many forgotten people shared their lives with me. From those others have shunned, I experienced love. In places I could not have imagined, I witnessed beauty, grace, and strength. Join me as I introduce you to my homeless friends and stand ready for your heart to change when you see them through the eyes of Jesus.

- Go Therefore and Make Disciples In Your Own Community!
123,95 kr. Matthew 24:14 English Standard Version (ESV) 14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come. Of course, Jesus would not have doubted his own words, because he had foreknowledge that they would be fulfilled in the whole world before the end came. Jesus would have known that, in time, an army of disciples would eventually respond to the leading of the Holy Spirit. (Ps. 110:3) What would this army of disciples do? They would effectively evangelize the whole world, from their community outward. While we do not know the day, nor the hour of Jesus' return (Mark 13:32), one sign of that return will be true Christianity entering the arena of the evangelism work, in a major way. While it has yet even to begin, what role can you play in getting it underway? The purpose of this series, The Christian Evangelist, is found within the subtitle, i.e., to go therefore and make disciples in our own community. The obligation of every Christian is to proclaim the Good News, teach Bible doctrine, and make disciples. Keep in mind that Jesus is coming at the day and hour that we do not know. He specifically asks, "When the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?" Luke 18:8 While it is true that evangelists have written some books over the last 20 years, which recommend that we refocus our energy from the missionary field to our own local communities outward, it has been slow to take hold. The need to get onboard with this objective is imperative, yet many have been slow to respond, if at all. Hence, in view of the work that lies ahead, that of proclaiming the Good News, teaching, making disciples, let us make the best of the time that remains. We need a tool to help us along the way. The author of this series has penned a book for Christians and their congregation, which will enable them to begin an evangelism program. You can help by reading this book yourself, and then promoting it to your congregation. THE EVANGELISM HANDBOOK: How All Christians Can Effectively Share God's Word in Their Community, is a practical guide (for real life application) in aiding all Christians in sharing biblical beliefs, the Good News of the Kingdom, how to deal with Bible critics, overturning false beliefs, so as to make disciples, as commanded by Christ. (Matthew 28:19-20) After a Christian or a church has completed The Evangelism Handbook, this series, The Christian Evangelist is designed as evangelism food, to sustain continued growth.

- Go Therefore and Make Disciples In Your Own Community
153,95 kr. Most Christians know that they are responsible to God; in fact, they know they are a slave to God with obligations. However, all of us have wondered one time or another, what is my purpose in my Christian walk with God? What is the father/husband's, the mother/wife's, the child's role in God's plan? Jesus knew that his main obligation in life was to carry out the will of the Father. Only "the one who does the will of [Jesus'] Father" is going to be blessed by the kingdom. (Matt 7:21) We are to help the poor in spirit, those who are of Satan's world, and lack spirituality. We are to free those held captive in Satan's world of humankind, as they are alienated from God. We are to open the eyes of those, who are spiritually blind. (Lu 4:18-19) This is every Christian's purpose. How, to what extent, and what role we play is up to us. It should be based on the level of our love and motivation to serve God wholeheartedly, without evading the responsibility we have in our Christian family, and congregation families. The objective of this book, The Christian Evangelist is to help every Christian, Go Therefore and Make Disciples In Your Own Community! (Matt 28:19-20) What extent do we need the work to be done, prior to the return of Christ? (Matt 24:14) Each chapter herein is designed to help all readers become better Christian evangelists.

- Questions Christians Ask - Biblical Answers
143,95 - 178,95 kr. Basic Teachings of the Bible is a series of books that cover the Questions Christians ask, with biblical answers, Why Study the Bible? Where Did God Come From? Is Speaking in Tongues Evidence of True Christianity? Do We Have a Soul that Is Apart From Us? Does Abortion Show Respect for Life? Do We Possess a Soul or Are We a Soul? Does the Bible Teach Universal Salvation? What Is Inerrancy of Scripture? Does the Bible Teach Liberation Theology? Does It Matter Which Bible Translation? Was Job a Real Historical Person? These are the type of basic Bible questions that are discussed and debated, before and after church services, at Christian gatherings, and on the internet. There are literally hundreds of them. These are questions that Bible critics might raise as well, which Christians have struggled to answer and now will have a simplified biblical response. The Bible will give us the answers to these questions, as well as reasoning and explaining from the Scriptures. If the texts are straightforward, which answer the question(s), the text alone will be used. However, if the text is difficult to understand, reasoning from the Scriptures will be used with the text. We will answer some of the questions in just 2-3 pages, while some may take up to 15 pages or more. It is hoped that the reader will find the answers as additional evidence demonstrating that the Bible is the best source for guiding one's life. This publication is VOLUME 2 of numerous volumes to come.

- The Coming Transhuman Transformation
108,95 kr. Today's Technological progress is mankind's greatest achievement, but may lead to total destruction. Technological progress consumes more than it produces, it pursues its own ends not that of humanity's and cannot accelerate indefinitely on a planet with finite resources. Jacques Ellul noted "[t]echnique (technology) has its limits. But when it has reached those limits, will anything exist outside them . . . is it (technological acceleration) not succeeding in undermining everything which is outside it?" (Ellul 1964, 85) Once technological limits are reached will anything be left? Transhumanists expect that technological acceleration will culminate by mid-century in an event they call the "Singularity" a technological Omega Point or convergence of human and artificial intelligence that will give rise to a god-like super computer (Artilect) which promises a century of progress in one hour.Despite apparent immediate gains, technology makes the human plight worse through exhaustion of resources and spiritual slavery. The Singularity will mark the end of technological progress as it reaches completion without redressing the spiritual problem inherent to the human condition. This means that all who step into the Singularity will enter a void, a digital black hole. The solution is as simple as the problem is sublime, step away from the edge of the abyss slowly.

- Evangelism and Engagement with Postmodern People
173,95 kr. Once upon a time, Postmodernism was a buzz word. It pronounced Modernism dead or at least in the throes of death. It was a wave that swept over Christendom, promising to wash away sterile, dogmatic and outmoded forms of church. But whatever happened to postmodernism? It was regarded as the start of a major historical transition to something new and promising and hailed as a major paradigm shift. Is it a philosophy that has passed its "sell-by" date? No! The radical fringe has become the dominant view and has been integrated into all aspects of life, including the Christian church. With the emergence of multicultural societies comes interaction with different belief systems and religions. Values like tolerance and a dislike of dogmatism have become key operating concepts, which reflect a change in worldview. This change is affecting every area of life, including the way we believe and what we believe. The effects are far-reaching. Postmodernism presents new challenges and opportunities for Christians. In this book Kieran Beville presents Postmodernism as a quest for significance, meaning and belonging and outlines evangelistic strategies for reaching Postmodern people with the abiding good news of the gospel.

- Anti-Semitism From Its Beginnings to the Holocaust Years
173,95 kr. Jews are indisputably the most persecuted people in the annals of history. At the source of Jew-hatred in its myriad forms is anti-Semitism, a sinister and vile mindset that has existed since Old Testament times or for thousands of years. Anti-Semites pervade social, religious, economic and political confines, even mainstream Christianity, and their dislike for people of Jewish ancestry often translate into mindless persecution and slaughter, such as the atrocities perpetrated by the Nazis and their collaborators during the Second World War in the mid-twentieth century whereby over six million Jews met their deaths in the Holocaust.Anti-Semitism, instead of diminishing after the horrors of World War II, showed no sign of decline, and it seems as though the entire world, with a few exceptions like the Jewish nation of Israel itself and the United States of America, is at loggerheads with Jews. Even international peacekeeping and monitoring organizations like the United Nations (and its numerous spinoff groups) are known to discriminate, sometimes barefacedly, against Jews and Israel. Middle Eastern Arabs and Muslims harbor intense loathing for Israel and Jews, and notwithstanding their occupancy of over ninety-nine percent of Middle Eastern territories, seek to covet the less than one percent of land in which Israelis reside-by any means necessary.Despite the seemingly insurmountable hardships and challenges Jews have faced throughout the centuries, they persist and even progress in today's societies. They leave their enemies awe-struck at their resilience and their will to survive. It seems as though Israel and Jew, in general, enjoy a kind of divine providence. ISRAEL and Jews around the world continue to stand tall today-against all odds!
