Steve Pueschel was born in Orlando, Florida. Following the receipt of a Bachelor's degree from Warner Southern College and a Master's degree from Troy State University, he focused on mentoring and training within his assigned career responsibilities. Through the years, developing written tools and instructional documents has led to a heightened interest in writing. Inspired by this passion and a drive to teach life skills through children's literature, Steve has focused his creative efforts on writing books that positively impact children's lives through learning and understanding how to navigate through life's difficult decisions and events. The second book in his newest series "Cooper's Crossroads" which follows some of these life discussions between two Boston terrier dogs is expected out in the winter of 2015. Steve has two children, a granddaughter and still lives in Orlando with his wife of over thirty years, Kathy.

Furthermore, he meets the love of his life, they are soon married, and his new bride begins to help him heal from pain and the emotions of fatherlessness.

My poetry stems from life experiences in New York and travels. Jazz and poetry have always relaxed my soul when challenges arose. In all circumstances, I've learned how to deal with each situation. Many people express themselves differently and some never get the opportunity to inspire others. I believe that for every question, there's an answer. It may not be the one we want; however, if we understand our gifts, that may be our answer. Relax and enjoy. --Rosie

To celebrate my 89th birthday recently, I have taken stock of my earliest childhood recollections; first of all, on a visit to my Grossmutter Harms, who lived on a small farm in Wilbur, Washington. I must have been about five or so, when my grandmother taught me to sing an old folk song in German. She was standing with her lady friends from church as I practiced the words and the dance steps in the circle. The ladies smiled as I sang and danced. My grandmother kissed my cheek and gave me two pennies from her apron pocket. That was my first foreign language experience. The next was several years later, with our Swedish neighbor's daughters. They taught a group of girls to sing Christmas carols in Sunday school and performed at the "Old Folks Home" in Swedish. I learned the words without learning the meaning; it was enough to follow the melody, apparently. The elderly residents loved to see the children. It must have reminded them of their childhood in Sweden. I always loved to hear my father sing in his rich baritone as he sang his favorite old songs; he would be in the world of his youth and sailing days. It seemed to refresh his soul. My mother, on the other hand, loved to recite long, epic poems in dramatic tones, as we children sat and listened, some poems even sending chills down my spine. I heard these poems so often, I memorized many myself. (This was the era of the popular Chautauqua circuits, which were a form of social entertainment where well-known poets and storytellers would perform their works in public.) As a result of these early influences, I grew up loving music and poetry and drama. --Anna Maria Malkoç

Renee Danette is recently retired after teaching for 43 years in a small school district on Long Island. During her first year of retirement she self-published her first poetry collection entitled, Woman On The Edge Of Time. Primitive Dancer, a celebration to all who feel the joy when spinning under the sun's ray and twirling beneath the moonbeams, is her second formal collection of personal poetry. Renee Danette still lives on Long Island, enjoying all that this magical place offers. Currently she is finalizing her third book of poetry and is working on a fourth.

For the more than casual observer of the people of this wonderful country, and especially for the older group of observers, things are changing as many of our people become bored, complacent and quite frankly just don't give a damn about our country's daily, weekly and yearly lowering of our standards and morals. Many seem okay about the gradual loss of freedoms, whether they are small or catastrophic. Most people are unable to detect that the dropping of these principles are right now nudging our country, built on free enterprise, into socialism. The changing of America that is the most difficult to accept is the loss of our country's culture. The final chapter addresses this and explains why the loss of our culture is ultimately the loss of our country. This book will mostly be read and enjoyed by seasoned citizens. The author would hope that the much younger generations would read it and take it to heart. Why? They have much more to lose if we don't stop the slide and once again go on the offense making our country stronger and better.

Within the pages of this small book, I have attempted to introduce and bring to life the stories of two common families caught up in a terrible conflict and thrust at each other as reluctant adversaries of war. The Irish American family the O'Reillys, and, the German Bavarian family the Von Steubens. In an attempt to portray the indigenous background of each, I introduce them as common people from two diverse countries with similar desires for a peaceful existence. They are common people, who through unfortunate circumstances by no fault of their own find themselves thrust into a deadly war imposed upon them by psychotic dictators. Many of the historical elements and time-lines in this book are accurate; however, this is a novella, a story of historical fiction so, rather than bogging the reader down with historically accurate references and footnotes, I prefer to leave serious research to the qualified historical scholars and academics. This is meant to be a story for the reader to experience and enjoy.
