The basic requirement for CHRISTIAN COUNSELLING in tertiary institutions is a compulsory activity within the course of study; hence, the dire need for the course text "Christian Counselling" written by Rev. Kesmen Sati Yohanna (Ph.D.).The book intended to meet the yearning aspirations of the teaming students particularly, those in education, social sciences and humanities. Maurice Nicoll (1884-1963) Harley Street analytical psychologist trained by CG Jung, and disciple of 'western gurus' GI Gurdjieff and PD Ouspensky, became in later years a practitioner and teacher of mystical spirituality. This study traces through Nicoll's published writings, and through the recently rediscovered Dream Diaries, his spiritual journey from his early rejection of Christianity to his finding 'what really mattered' in a re-embrace of his natal religion, but this in a form he saw as far 'truer' than what he had earlier rejected. Nicoll learned through practising Gurdjieff's 'Work', his system of spiritual training, that the Kingdom of Heaven is neither a post-mortem experience nor a millennial restoration of Christ's Kingdom, but a state of psychological or spiritual development, the fulfilment or perfection of the individual life achievable in this life; the Gospels, neither ethical discourse nor historical biography of a god-man describe this spiritual state and how to achieve it. Nicoll's books The New Man and The Mark, works of biblical exegesis on psychological lines, explain how this message, esoterically encoded in the Gospel narrative, may be interpreted.

We encounter this God in a land "given to the hands of man", in the face of a poor person and a little one, in the silence and tears, in the joy and hope of those who never tire of sowing seeds... because the God of Jesus is found "moving from the sinful and suffering world and not from a religious height". Becoming men and women is the true Christian vocation and the Church can only be at the service of this call. Every time it gives in to the temptation of power and success, of ritualism, of clericalism, of an asceticism that distances one from the life of the world, forgets his service and his mission; forget who she really is.

Without relativising the belief that the name "Jesus" stands for universal salvation, Panikkar explains the value of the other names of the one mediator to whom the various religions refer. These considerations have implications for the question of salvation not only for people of different religions but also for all ETIs throughout the universe. It may take millions of light years for the name ¿Jesus¿ to reach the ETIs.
