The kingdom of heaven is not some distant place separated from earth. In the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus describes the importance of love and announces that "the kingdom of heaven has come near" (Matthew 4:17).

The ELCA Division for Congregational Ministries and Augsburg Fortress Publishers are proud to continue their work on Renewing Worship, the multi-year program to develop basic Lutheran worship materials for the new century. Since 1978, the Lutheran Book of Worship has been the primary English language worship resource for many Lutherans throughout the world. In a process that includes numerous expert consultations, congregational feedback, and input from all branches of the church, Renewing Worship will provide the means to develop worship materials that reflect the diversity, vitality, and growth of the Lutheran Church today. Each year several volumes of provisional Renewing Worship material will appear, presenting to the church at large worship ideas for use and evaluation. A feedback form will be included in every volume, so input can be easily provided. Additionally, the program's website (www.renewingworship.org) will continue to provide background, overview, evaluation forms, and sample content for all available material, throughout the process. Based upon The Use of the Means of Grace, this volume will provide foundational principles in the areas of language, music, preaching, and worship space, for study and response throughout the church.

This study examines the correspondence from the apostle Paul to the early church in Corinth. Paul's letters to this church provided guidance - for persons new to faith as well as those growing in faith - about what it means to be a disciple of Christ. This study examines some of the "big questions" the church faced, and that we still face today. This eight-session course explores selected passages from 1 and 2 Corinthians. Sessions include: Whose Am I? (1 Corinthians 1:1-30) What Then Am I? (1 Corinthians 3:1 - 4:5) It's Not All About Me? (1 Corinthians 6:12-20; 10:23-33) What Am I Good For? (1 Corinthians 12:1-31) What Will I Be Ultimately? (1 Corinthians 12:12-28; 35-58) How Do I Achieve This Glory? (2 Corinthians 3:1 - 4:15) What Can I Do Here and Now? (2 Corinthians 4:16 - 5:21) What is my Response to God's Grace? (2 Corinthians 8:1-15; 9:1-15)

These title focus on conflict resolution, developing leaders, and building human resources.

Faith Conversations for Mentors and Youth helps cross-generational communication happen in a natural and meaningful way for confirmation-age youth and significant adults in the faith community.
