658,95 kr. "Danish Ceramic Architecture" offers a presentation of Danish architecture that has not been seen before. With ceramic and lightweight terracotta façades as a medium, the book narrates a piece of Danish architectural history unknown to most people. It is thus a new way of approaching the Danish architectural treasure by zooming in on approximately the past 100 years and otherwise overlooked buildings, as well as telling new stories about well-known works. This is how the book demonstrates why this particular style of architecture is something professionals and others interested in architecture and aesthetics should be aware of. Through essays by and interviews with leading architecture thinkers and practitioners as well as dozens of projects with façades in ceramic, by major Danish architectural firms such as Vilhelm Lauritzen, Cobe and BIG the purpose of the book is to relate ceramic façades to central Danish (and international) currents in architecture and material. In this way, it will help point forward to new forms of expression for Danish architecture. The book was conceived by the architect, writer, teacher, consultant and designer Rune Bundgaard, who has worked with ceramic architecture since 2015 in his own firm KLINK. He is currently also employed at Henning Larsen Architects.

707,95 kr. Bertil Vallien is ranked today as one of the world s foremost artists with glass as material. He has worked with glass for more than 60 years, and is represented, among other places, at the Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg in Russia and at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City in the United States. In "Atlas", we take part of Vallien's world through his thoughts, words and stories accompanied by a rich visual flow of art glass, sketches and newly taken pictures from his studio and cabin. We get a premonition of the demanding work process that results in these unique glass sculptures, which is an example of when skilled craftsmanship and artistry meet. Vallien's sources of inspiration derive in everything from the story of the girl Karolina, who slept for 32 years, to the black series Desert Snow. His famous crafts have been developing from the first one in ceramics to the later ones in advanced sand casting in glass. This is a technique that he has been developing for decades, which has made it possible for him to increase the sizes of his pieces. Passage, the largest glass boat in the world, was created by Bertil Vallien. "Atlas" is an unusual book at 400 pages, with Peer Eriksson behind the graphic design and idea. The images come, aside from Peer, from photographers that Vallien use when the pieces are photographed for catalogues and exhibitions. "This book is the only one out of all my books where I actually have written the texts myself. An idea from Peer Eriksson that both felt exciting and a little terrifying when we started talking about the approach to the book." Bertil Vallien

449,95 kr. In the post-war 1920s, new ideas were blossoming and a creative experimental appetite was awakening. A new avant-garde took form. At its epicentre was an unconventional dance troupe with a politically charged repertoire that did not hesitate to provoke its audience: they went by the name Ballets Suédois. The eccentric couple Rolf de Maré and Jean Börlin were its leaders, but the co-creators were many. Ballets Suédois was not an ordinary dance company, their creations were more than plain choreography, they were total artworks. Aside from the young dancers in the company, they had collaborations with artists such as Nils Dardel, Francis Picabia and Fernand Léger, and composers like Erik Satie, Hugo Alvén and Darius Milhaud, to name but a few. With multi-media works such as Les Mariés de la Tour Eiffel (The Wedding on the Eiffel Tower), Iberia, and L Homme et son désir (Man and his Desire), where the music, stage décor, choreography, costumes, performance, and at times even the audience, were part of the creation, they took over stages around Europe and the USA between 1920 and 1925. In ten chapters written by art history professors, dance historians, music historians, theatre scholars and choreographers, the story about Ballets Suédois is told: Through the feuds with the Stockholm Opera, the scandals and the vicious gossip in the press. Through the art collections and painters that inspired and were inspired. Through historical views on the male body. Through the adventures of the female dancers. Through love, friendship, conflict and tragedy. Through financial troubles and the fierce competition with Ballets Russes. Through Paris, Stockholm and Copenhagen. Through experimental musical compositions and their influence on composers such as John Cage. Through the innovative and extravagant haute-couture costumes. Through the legacy they left behind for new generations of dancers and through a re-enactment of their Dadaistic piece Relâche.

- konstkeramiken 1896-1925
548,95 kr.
