  • af A Kassen
    448,95 kr.

The book Works in Architecture by artist group A Kassen explores the blending of art and architecture in what they term the expanded domain of architecture. It highlights the creative exchanges between these two fields, offering a deeper dialogue that challenges traditional ideas of architecture as merely functional and aesthetic. Through a series of projects, A Kassen introduces elements that disturb and distort reality, encouraging us to see and experience space in new ways.By merging art with architecture, A Kassen opens up new possibilities for how spaces can be designed, used, and interpreted. Their work encourages architects and artists alike to reimagine the role of art in shaping the built world, offering fresh inspiration for incorporating creativity into building culture. This continuous exploration of the intersection between art and architecture helps to redefine the boundaries of both disciplines, pushing the potential of architecture into new, imaginative territory. With an introduction and interview by Kristoffer Lindhardt Weiss

  • - Reflections on the Agency of Architecture
af Olivia Toftum & 3XN GXN
    378,95 kr.

Bogen AWARE: Reflections on the Agency of Architecture undersøger således arkitekturens agens og spørger, hvad det er, arkitektur kan og gør?

    143,95 kr.

The book is the first in our paperback series, which aims to present current and pressing challenges in architecture and urban design in an effective, powerful and thought-provoking way. In a shorter format and with a new way of looking at things, these books trigger poignant questions about the future of our built environment. De Jordische Byer presents two different episodes. The first takes the reader through the history of urban development: from the muscle city, which was driven by human and animal labor, through the machine cities of industrialization to the current borderless cities, characterized by global communication and blurred urban divides. It introduces the concept of the earthly city as a close, harmonious interweaving of people and nature. The second section deals with the urgent need to rethink urbanism in light of the climate crisis. It calls for a paradigm shift for a sustainable future. It explores the polarized responses to the climate crisis: technological optimism versus hyperlocal sustainability. The earthly, however, moves away from globalization and locality and focuses on our interconnectedness with Earth's ecosystems. This book is indispensable for anyone interested in future urban life and our role within the Earth's ecological framework.

  • af Søren Nielsen & Kasper Guldager Jensen
    298,95 kr.

Circular Construction for urban development is based on the Circular Economy theory developed by the Ellen McArthur Foundation. The perspective presented is how circular principles can be implemented on multiple levels in the building industry by applying off-site modular industrialised construction. The book's overarching theme is exploring the synergies of coupling circularity with industrialisation. The construction sector is well known for being siloed and slow to innovate due to its inherent nature of starting over in each individual project and solving the same challenges with new teams and new solutions. Through industrialised construction, our current project-focused practice can be turned into circular product platform thinking based on the belief that rationalisation and technological innovation will continue to play a significant role in shaping a safer and fairer future. This book introduces various principles, perspectives, and tools. It covers principles of design for disassembly, material and building passports, and circular business models. It also provides perspectives on circular life cycle assessment and tools that can provide circularity insights, planetary boundary targets for construction, and estimates of existing reuse and upfront carbon savings.

  • - A Political Story
    af Dag Petersson

It was a case that offered a rare research opportunity to explore the political agency of architecture as it unfolded in real life. The pivotal question posed by the book is to what extent did the building itself function as a political actor? • af Ingrid Gehl & Jan Gehl
    278,95 kr.

    598,95 kr.

Gellerup tells the story of one of the most ambitious and controversial urban development projects in Danish history. Gjellerupplanen was launched as a brand-new urban district, modelled after the modernist planning ideals that transformed cities all over the world. The book follows the plan, from the 1950s when the visions surfaced, to the point when the first turf was cut, and all the way up to the present, when the area has come to epitomize the social challenges associated with modernist large-scale planning. Today, the district is undergoing a dramatic transformation aimed at redefining the place and installing a different narrative about this troubled part of Aarhus. This means that Gellerup may be used as a prism to shed new light on the varying Danish architecture and housing policies. The book takes an in-depth look at the architectural and urban visions that shaped Gellerup in the first place and then goes on to examine the events and ideas that led to the present perception of the area, including its problems and potentials.

  • - A Compilation of Texts and Images 1923-2020.
af Kristoffer Lindhardt Weiss, Signe Sophie Bøggild & Pernille Maria Bärnheim
    248,95 kr.

THE WELFARE CITY IN TRANSITIONThrough a compilation of texts and images from different voices and decades the book presents key challenges and perspectives of the past, present and future of the Danish welfare city. It provides a critical map for reflection and action when tackling the urban issues of our time. The welfare city as we know it today is facing structural transformations, undermining the ideology of the post-war welfarism. As the welfare city has entered a new phase of market driven development, many of the challenges that the post-war welfare city's architects and decision makers dealt with resemble the present- day crises: financial crisis, migration crisis, democracy crisis, housing crisis, health crisis - and on top of it the major 'newcomer' crises of climate changes and the covid-19 pandemic.

af Mette Lund Jørgensen & Peter Thule Kristensen
    372,95 kr.
