My Book is about my family moving from New Orleans Louisiana to Compton California doing the Watts Riot with six children. My father was starting a new job. I am the eldest child and I helped raise them while both parents worked. I had a lot of responsibility and I was codependent but over the years with therapy I learned better and had boundaries. But I had a long hard road of learning experiences with family and friends finding out about the wrong and right ways. Thank God for good people and God fearing folks along the way. Some will laugh and some may cry but we will learn how to do and live life better. All I want for all to have is a better quality of life and to enjoy it to the fullest the way God intended. So take this short journey with me and you won't regret it. My hobbies are reading, crocheting, sewing, and ceramics. As a child I received lots of diaries and that got me to writing and it was a way of releasing tensions and frustrations too. I was born Yolanda Marie Thiel, February 22,1955 in New Orleans LA. I lived there until I was seven years old, and the family moved to Compton CA in 1965. My father Rodney Anthony Thiel Sr. started a new job at the Chrysler corporation. My mother is Bonita Lucille Thiel, she currently was a stay-at-home mom. I was the oldest of six children, I had four sisters and two brothers. We attended private school; we went to Saint Albert the great Catholic school in Compton. I started off at pioneer elementary school in Compton and went to Enterprise middle school in Compton from there graduated and went to Regina Calie high school in Compton. I graduated and went to Compton junior college for two years and graduated and went to Cal State Dominguez hills university in Carson graduated and received my bachelor's degree in Human Services major in a minor in arts degree. I was a student worker in the health department as a nurse assistant at Cal State Dominguez hills and in the accounting department at the Compton junior college while I was going to school full time. I got married after I graduated from Compton college I have two sons, that are grown now. While I was married, I did become a minister in the Apostolic faith, I continue to be a minister now I also teach Sunday school to the children at my church BTCC that I go to in Fontana CA. Where I live now, I sing in the choir I love working with the children and with the people that come to the church. I also work with the Baptism department when people come in and give their lives to the Lord. I assist with counseling with those who want to come and be baptized. I enjoy working with these people. After I graduated from Compton College, I did work for Pacific bell and AT&T for over 25 years as a clerk. I worked in the street ministry and sang in the choir and met a lot of good people there. I enjoy speaking to people and telling them about Jesus and leading them to salvation currently. I kept a lot of memoirs; I kept a lot of Diaries and began writing even from an early age I always received Diaries. And books so I kept a lot of things that happened in my life. I would always write, so this got me into writing a lot of books and I would keep them and then the Lord put it on my heart this would be something that I can do to earn my keep. I decided I didn't want to work anymore selling my wares because of my health I had different health issues. So, this was another way that I can still earn my key and do an honest day's work. This is how I came about being in writer at this time my hobbies are reading, writing, crocheting, sewing, I have a cat, name Alexander. I live with my son Matthew, and I have another son Christopher that lives in Washington. I'm a single lady now life is good and I'm still writing, and I love the Lord and I'm sure you'll find enjoyment from reading these books that I'm writing as well as me enjoying writing and sharing my life Amen.
