SYNOPSIS The evening consists of three dreams, interrupted by brief periods of waking in which Nemo is reassured by his mother and put back to sleep. In his first dream, Nemo is by turns disoriented and delighted by the people and creatures he discovers, but believes he must reach "Slumberland" to meet his playmate the Princess. He meets two important colleagues, the incomprehensible Imp, and the wily Flip-Flap who not-so-secretly tries to thwart Nemo's mission. Nemo's second dream is troubled by the anxiety of not being able to remember exactly where he is supposed to go or what he is supposed to be doing, but is soon rewarded for his tenaciousness and reaches the Princess. The play with joy, but this dream is ended abruptly by the jealous Flip. In his third dream of the evening, Nemo learns to master his dreams, so he may control his surroundings rather than be subject to them.
