Nettelhorst, Wiesbaden Best.-Nr.9105 Vorwort In der alten Reihe "Ostwald's Klassiker der exakten Wissen­ schaften" sind als Band Nr. 142 "Fünf Abhandlungen über absolute elektrische Strom- und Widerstandsmessung, von Wilhelm Weber und Rudolf Kohlrausch", durch Friedrich Kohlrausch herausgegeben worden. Wenn sich seitdem auch die elektrischen Maßsysteme gewandelt haben, so wurde dennoch die Bedeutung dieser Originalarbeiten nicht geschmälert. Die Vierer- und Fünfer-Systeme der Elektrik und Magnetik sind letztlich aus dem alten Dreier-System hervorgegangen. Friedrich Kohlrausch beschloß den Band mit Teilen aus Webers Abhandlung "Zur Galvanometrie". Die Kapitel sind charakteristisch für die Ampere-Weberschen Ansichten von der Existenz materieller elektrischer Fluida. Ehe man um die Jahr­ hundertwende die Natur der Kathodenstrahlen aufgeklärt hatte, hielten viele Physiker derartige Vorstellungen für eine veraltete und überflüssige Hypothese. Später zeigte sich, daß viele Ideen der vormaxwellsehen Elektrodynamik von der Elektronik wieder­ aufgenommen wurden. Diese alten, fast vergessenen, und doch immer wirksam gebliebenen Anschauungen wieder ans Tageslicht zu ziehen, möge einem anderen Bändchen vorbehalten bleiben.

In einer FuBnote zu seinem Buch "Funktion der Religion" diagnostiziert NIKLAS LUHMANN "Widerspriiche zwischen der Logik des Geldes und der Logik des Glaubens"l. Allerdings, so scheint es mir, ortet LUHMANN die Widerspriiche - er spricht sogar von "ganzlich ungelosten Problemen" - in einem fUr ihren Nachweis nicht hinreichend schliissigen Kontext, namlich im religiosen Gebot der Nachstenliebe. "Die Rationalitat des Umgangs mit Geld beruht auf der Disposition nach individuell verschiedenen Praferenzen und widerspricht der kirchlich verkiindeten Religion der Nachstenliebe . . . ; denn im Geldsystem kann der Geldgeber nur rational handeln, wenn er seine Bediirfnisse mit denen anderer vergleicht und andere Geldquellen mit in Be­ tracht zieht. Knappheit wird durch Geld so hoch aggregiert und so vielen Ver­ gleichsmoglichkeiten ausgesetzt, daB eine Religion, die Geldgeben fordert, unokonomisches Verhalten fordern muB"2. Ich frage mich, ob hier nicht eine EngfUhrung des Rationalitatsbegriffs in bezug auf das Geld und den Umgang mit ihm vorliegt: Rational = okono­ misch? Rationalitat mag es immer nur innerhalb eines abgrenzbaren Referenz­ rahmens geben.
