In my poetry, I, the writer, search for answers to life's questions. The Poetry of Life II, sometimes emotional, sometimes playful, is based on my personal feelings, observations, and experiences in my life and travels. It is a book about everyday occurrences, such as love, relationships, hunger, poverty, war, nature, and death. The poem "Memory" describes lovers separated by time and distance, while their love remains strong. The poems "Lover's Prayer," "Lover's Thanks," "Lover's Questions," "Response," and "Soulmate," describe the openness between two lovers. "Celestial" tells of a love that is unattainable. Nature, a mysterious power in the poems "Cry of the Ancients" and "O'Moon," contains secrets of Mother Earth. The poems "Hope," "Faith," and "Paradise Lost" reminds us that no matter how bad things are, no matter what humanity does, there is always hope for the "Salvation of Humankind."

The Fifth International Conference on General Inequalities was held from May 4 to May 10, 1986, at the Mathematisches Forschungsinstitut Oberwolfach (Black Forest, Germany). The organizing committee consisted of W.N. Everitt (Birmingham), L. Losonczi (Debrecen) and W. Walter (Karlsruhe). Dr. A. Kovacec served efficiently an'd enthusiastically as secretary to the con­ ference. The meeting was attended by 50 participants from 16 countries. In his opening address, W. Walter had to report on the death of five colleagues who had been active in the area of inequali­ ties and who had served the mathematical community: P.R. Beesack, G. Polya, D.K. Ross, R. Bellman, G. Szegö. He made special mention of G. Polya, who had been the last surviving author of the book InequaZities (Cambridge University Press, 1934), who died at the age of 97 years and whose many and manifold contributions to mathematics will be recorded elsewhere, in due course. Inequalities continue to play an important and significant role in nearly all areas of mathematics. The interests of the participants to this conference reflected the many different fields in which both classical and modern inequalities continue to influence developments in mathematics. In addition to the established fields, the lectures clearly indicated the importance of inequalities in functional analysis, eigenvalue theory, con­ vexi ty., number theory, approximation theory, probability theory, mathematical prograrnrning and economics.

Mit der programmgesteuerten Rechenanlage (Ziffern-Rechenautomat) ist vor etwa zwanzig Jahren ein Maschinentyp auf den Plan getreten, der Leistungen zu voll­ bringen imstande ist, die bis dahin der menschlichen Geistestatigkeit vorbehalten waren. Zu der Kraft-Maschine, welche menschliche Muskelkraft ersetzt, kam die Informations-Maschine *) hinzu, welche logisch erfaBbare Tatigkeiten der mensch­ lichen Ratio ausfiihren und somit den Menschen auf einer hoheren, der geistigen, Ebene entlasten kann. 1m Zuge der Entwicklung hat sich die programmgesteuerte Rechenanlage, der Prototyp der InformationsmaschiI'l'2, ein viel groBeres Anwendungsfeld erschlossen, als es durch die Interessen der Mathematiker gekennzeichnet ist. Andere Maschinentypen sind hinzugekommen, auf welche die Bezeichnung Rechen­ Automat nurmehr bedingt paBt, die aber andererseits Anspruch haben, ebenbiirtig an deren Seite gestellt zu werden. Dabei denkt man zum Beispiel an die tech­ nischen Modelle zur Beschreibung von Lernvorgangen, an Spezialzweckanlagen zur Datenverarbeitung, Spracheniibersetzung, logischen Beweisfiihrung, zur Aus­ fiihrung von Strategiespielen usw. In Anbetracht der Vielfalt der Interessen er­ scheint es nicht unbillig zu fragen, wo, an welcher Stelle im Gebaude der Natur­ und technischen Wissenschaften wir uns iiberhaupt befinden, ob eine einfache Interpretation des Sachverhalts iiberhaupt moglich ist, die uns ein Zurechtfinden erlaubt.

His obsessions, fantasies and voyeuristic tendencies are explored and revealed within this diary - one of the most famous examples of Victorian erotic literature from the decadent era.Only six copies of 'My Secret Life' were initially printed in 1888. Attempts to republish the book resulted in the novel being repeatedly banned.
