    After the flame synopsisAfter setting Banzi ablaze, Nomthi is arrested and she stands trial for murder, however she receives a suspended sentence. This infuriate gogo Magalela, Banzi's mother, she feels that the law failed her son.Her anger escalates during the reading of the will where she discovers that Banzi left all his money and assets to Nomthi and his children. She sets out to plot revenge and take justice into her own hands, her plan also intends to gain all of Banzi's money and assets.Gogo Mthombeni, a next door neighbour and an adult features perfectly in her plan, she uses her as an accomplice to achieve her goal at revenge. While gogo Mthombeni was worming her way into Nomthi's life, gogo Magalela convinces her eldest son to take Nomthi and make her his second wife. Her ruse falls apart when the elders discovered that she and her son did not follow proper protocol when they married Nomthi off to Banzi.That further fuels her anger, she resorts to witchcraft, and she goes to consult a sangoma to make sure that the shadow of Banzi follows her all the days of her life. The sangoma, Makhosi, casts Banzi's spirit into a snake and keeps it in Nomthi's house.She first see the snake playing with her youngest daughter, Nongcebo, but gogo Mthombeni convinces her that it was an ancestral spirit that symbolises peace and harmony with the ancestors. However, the same night, Nomthi dreams of the snake entering inside her body and she wakes up traumatized and feeling as though she had had sexual intercourse with someone. Little did she know that gogo Magalela married Banzi spirit to her, she ensured that wherever she went, his spirit will follow her like a husband would do.Nomthi was already haunted by Banzi's spirit even before gogo Magalela went to consult Makhosi. She journeyed back home to her grandparents in Eastern Cape to seek help but her grandparents send her back with just an advice to find a sangoma to take Banzi's spirit out of her house.Her grandparents' advice drives her straight into the mouth of a blood hounding beast that is Makhosi ready to consume her. Her path crosses that of gogo Magalela and she falls straight into her revenge trap. Gogo Mthombeni takes her to Makhosi as part of her plan with gogo Magalela to destroy her life. Makhosi performs a ceremony to enforce the covenant as instructed by gogo Magalela claiming to cast Banzi's spirit out of the house.It was not long but the trauma of the spirit came back to haunt Nomthi, she goes back to Makhosi who used her blood and the blood of her children to strengthens the covenant between Nomthi and Banzi whose spirit was cast into a snake.After battling with the spirit that was bonded to her for life, Nomthi makes peace with her miserable life and goes to claim her insurance money. She was not going to live peacefully ever after, however she knew that even if she left, Banzi's spirit will forever haunt her. The spell could never be broken because gogo Magalela swore that till death do them part.
