Publication Date: January 31, 2011 Poetry to God, Volume 1: Lord Please Hear the Cry presents a collection of verses that draw upon a personal spiritual journey to offer testimony to the redemptive nature of faith. After years of struggling with his addictions, author Terry Webb turned his life over to the care of God and invited the Lord Jesus into his heart. God has been in the midst of his deepest struggles and has now restored everything in Terry's life that was lost in his addiction. His poem, "You're Never Alone," recounts God's assurance of care and protection in even the most difficult of circumstances: You never cry alone, my child, For when you cry, I do ... Although this life may bring you pain, My child, just trust in me, And if you will obey my word, I'll give you victory! Several poems offer praise to God, while in "The Heavens Glory of God" celebrates the beauty of God's divine creation: Enveloped in beauty, the silence of night, Sprinkled with stars in Heaven bright. In cloudless skies, the shimmering, The Heavenly stars are rendering. The glory of God, crisp and clear, His wondrous glory far, but near. Let Poetry to God move your heart and soul, and draw you closer to the Lord!

Until then, few knew Stevens' importance in the Emancipation Proclamation and the passage of the thirteenth and fourteenth amendments to the U.S. Constitution. Thaddeus Stevens: The Making of an Inconvenient Hero is an exciting fictional story based on historical fact about "Thad" as a teenager-after his father deserted the family, leaving the family penniless. Brought to life with vivid descriptions and colorful scenes are Thad's character, physical challenges, and the strong opinions and actions he took to help runaway slaves. We applaud Dr. Webb in her efforts to recreate Thaddeus Stevens' youth, here in Vermont, as a way to piece together historical events and his personal life. For any young student who feels unheard; for any student who is described as disabled; for any student whose parentage is different; for any student whose economic status feels disadvantaged, he or she need only look at Thaddeus Stevens. He chose hope over despair, victory over victimhood, and power over helplessness. -Julie Hansen, Director Thaddeus Stevens School, Lyndon Center, Vermont Dr. Terry Webb writes historical fiction novels for all interested in United States history, and especially for tweens and middle school students to learn about American culture and customs. Dr. Webb's academic credentials include a Master's degree in Education and a Doctorate degree in Family and Marriage Counseling Addiction Intervention. Study modules accompany her books to enhance, enrich, and enlarge reader learning.
