Packed with sumptuous photography, this is one of the first titles in the new and lavish 'Deluxe' natural history series from Reed New Holland. The images celebrate the beauty and marvellous design of some of our most misunderstood animals, the reptiles. They share a magnificence and elegance that we are now beginning to really appreciate. They are, in the true sense of the word, awesome! The images have stories to tell. A gecko with padded toes dashes across vertical glass, seeming to mock the laws of gravity as it moves effortlessly over that smooth surface. In just a fraction of a second a chameleon unleashes its tongue, a high- velocity projectile, with the accuracy of a marksman to snatch an insect from a twig a body's length away. In a powerful test of strength and endurance, two great Komodo Dragons, the largest living lizards, rise on their hind limbs and try to topple each other in a meeting of muscles and scaly hides. Stunning shots of snakes, lizards, crocodiles and turtles from around the world are brought together via a foreword from expert herpetologist Steve Wilson, who explains why reptiles are such an ongoing success story, having been around for 200 million years and with 12,000 extant species adapted to habitats as varied as arctic tundra, deserts, rainforests and open oceans. All in all 'Reptiles' is a glorious memento of a fascinating subject, brought together in a luxurious book that celebrates the many astonishing reptile species from all around the planet, making it ideal for nature lovers, as a gift, or as an interior design feature in any home.

This book is a celebration of lizard-hood. It salutes a diversity of form and function unparalleled among terrestrial vertebrates, from apex predators capable of swallowing goats to limbless subterranean insectivores. In equal measure they thrive in a tropical paradise, a waterless terrain so bleak one wonders how anything survives, and the human domain, including domestic gardens and the ruins of past civilizations The book ventures into how lizards exploit those disparate places, and author and photographer Steve Wilson's attempts to document them around the world. This book is born from journeys of discovery by the author. Quests for lizards and other reptiles have taken him to some of the world's extraordinary biodiversity hot-spots in Borneo, Madagascar, Costa Rica and the Galapagos Islands. He has also crisscrossed his native Australia many times, searching for lizards in deserts, rainforests and even peoples' back yards. From mighty Komodo Dragons in Indonesia to tiny anoles in the Americas, every lizard has a tale to tell, making this a must-read title for anyone who is passionate about reptiles or about wildlife in general.

Long Range is back! A special edition launched by Dr. Cicero Books, this reissue of the classic motorbike novel offers the full, unabridged book, in addition to an exclusive 2013 interview with the author. America as we know it is no more. In the west, a state called the Fief must depend on Hell's Angels, men ruled only by their own violent code of brotherhood, to protect them both from the Gypsies constantly threatening their borders, and from the East, a state that has failed to learn from the nuclear devastation and pursues an aggressiveness reminiscent of the days before the blast. When a scientist whose work promises the reclaiming of the vast Dead Lands decides he must take his discoveries out of the pugilistic East, the Fief sends three Angels to help him escape. Aboard their powerful hogs-motorcycles-the rescue party crosses the desolate plains to the Eastern fortress where he is held. Long Range, an Angel too young to know fear, leads them, which is good, because the world's meanest Gypsy, Bad Hand, who has sworn he'll wipe them out, is right on their tail. Bad Hand was once an Angel himself, but his brothers left him for dead, and now his madness and rage make him indestructible....

When Marine Lieutenant Michael Neill is ordered to the former Soviet Union, his assignment is to verify nuclear disarmament. But before his mission begins, an American reconnaissance plane is attacked by a Russian fighter, and a Navy pilot is killed. After the incident, Neill's mission changes. Willis Avery, the President's National Security Advisor, wants Lieutenant Neill to investigate Russian stealth technology, in addition to his original assignment. Photographic evidence-and the lack of radar images of the attacking aircraft-lead the American intelligence community to conclude that something new has been developed in the skies over Russia. Avery believes that Neill's friendship with a high-ranking officer in the Ukrainian Air Force is the key to establishing Red Sky at Morning-the existence of new aviation technology that could upset the balance of power between East and West. However, ultra-nationalist forces are at work. After arriving in Eastern Europe, Neill quickly uncovers a conspiracy of terrorism secretly instigated by the Kremlin. Government leaders in Moscow will stop at nothing to rebuild the Soviet Union as they try to force the breakaway republics back into the fold. Neill discovers that the terrorism has extended to the weapons facility he is charged with inspecting. Communist agents have gone far beyond their original orders, and it's a race against time as the Marine-with the help of a beautiful Ukrainian journalist-tries to stop them-and come up with a plan to bring down the corrupt govenment officials in Moscow.

Questions lie at the heart of Steve Wilson's latest collection, Complicity. In poems that wander confidently across a wide range of subjects, places and voices, Wilson works at making sense through musicality, within the movement of lines, upon the interplay of empty space and evocative images, against the pressures of isolation. The effect of Complicity is that we are watching a world being made.
