118,95 kr. Welcome to sleepy little Widow's Bay island, where nothing interesting ever happens, usually. In the midst of a violent storm which has cut off the island from the mainland, a young woman is found wandering in a near catatonic state with someone else's blood on her. It soon becomes apparent she may be the sole witness to a potentially supernatural attack. Despite the raging storm, a large area close by is inexplicably dry with the rain turning instantly to steam the moment it hits the ground. After returning to the spot later, the policeman who found the young woman comes across a blood soaked man whose clothes have been burnt from his body. At first the policeman thinks he may be the victim of a lightning strike. But on closer examination the man is found to have many deep fresh scars carved into his back. The scars have a distinct pattern to them which link the attack to the seven year hunt for a serial killer. With the island cut off from the mainland due to the worsening weather, this leaves two police officers, a doctor and a volunteer lifeboat man trapped in a storm battered lifeboat station with the only witness to the crime and thus a link to the possible identity of the killer. A killer who must still be on the island. And that's when life on sleepy little Widow's Bay takes a turn for the surreal

134,95 kr. Told in the compelling voice of Rachel Moore, a housemaid in 17th century Puritan Boston and featuring that colony's two most powerful figures in Governor John Winthrop and his courageous opponent Anne Hutchinson, From Infamy to Hope is the story of the religious persecution of a servant girl made pregnant by rape. Convicted of fornication, she is sentenced to wear a black W for "whore" on her gown. Over the opposition of Hutchinson, the colony heads into war with the Pequot Indians. Rachel masquerades as a boy soldier, hoping to recover her baby who was sold to the Pequots by her alcoholic father to satisfy a debt. She is at the war's final battle when the colonial army burns down the Pequot's fortified village in Mystic, Connecticut. Will she find her baby among the ashes?Although Hutchinson was ultimately excommunicated and banished, a statue in her honor now stands before the State House in Boston, and a parkway bears her name in New York near where she died in another Indian war. Her descendants include F.D.R., the Bushes, as well as Mitt Romney. The present day Pequots now run Foxwood Casino near the site of the massacre in Connecticut.

188,95 kr. Humber Cars date back to 1899, when Thomas Humber produced his Humber Phaeton model. The company went on to manufacture various quality motor vehicles, but financial difficulties during the 1920s led to it being bought out in 1928. The company became part of the Rootes Group, which would also include Hillman, Sunbeam, Singer, Commer and Karrier. The Rootes brothers were keen to promote the Humber marque as a prestige brand to place it alongside Rover and Jaguar. This book takes up the story of Humber cars at the end of Second World War, looking at the Hawk, Super Snipe and Sceptre, as well as the marque's association with royalty and government. The marque's eventual demise came in 1976, and Stephen Lewis utilises an array of fascinating rare and previously unpublished images to tell the full story of Humber's post-war era.

The Staff in all the Hotels that I have been involved with, again made life easy as they always worked together, but also talking to the Customers & Guests made it successful for both parties. Even working out in the Island of Nevis was again a great example of meeting with other people.
