- A Pride & Prejudice Variation
208,95 kr. This is a story of friendship which defies all the odds, and survives and flourishes regardless of the impediments which arise. The friendship is born out of an almost tragedy and extreme bravery by one Elizabeth Bennet. In saving the lives of those in peril, she thwarts the designs of one of the villains of this tale and makes an enemy of the person. As in canon, our Anne is sickly. In this variation it is because she had suffered a bad case of childhood scarlet fever. For the purposes of this story the disease has seriously weakened her cardio-vascular system. It is not a secret her life will not be a long one. We see how our Lizzy, aided by her sisters and others, improve Anne's quality of life and give her friendship and happiness she never thought she would find. All of the principal characters from canon are present, as well as some of my own invention, including two rather large (and I dare say popular) footmen-guards. Through Sir Lewis and Anne de Bourgh the Bennets (very different from those in canon) meet the Fitzwilliams and most of the Darcys. Do the connections they make change the initial meeting typically depicted between Elizabeth Bennet and Fitzwilliam Darcy? How do Lady Catherine, George Wickham, Mrs. Younge, and the Bingleys factor into this story? The above questions and many more will be answered as you read my tale. This book is a full length novel of 110,000 words plus.

- A Pride & Prejudice Vagary
212,95 kr. ***Warning: There are parts of this book which allude to domestic abuse, although there is not any graphic depiction of said violence.*** This a full length novel of about 115,000 words. This is not a P&P variation, rather is is a vagary which features the characters from that magnificent work by the one and only Jane Austen. Rather than protect their daughter like any good parent should, first Fanny and then Thomas Bennet push their 16 year old daughter Elizabeth into a marriage with a much older man who happens to be a duke. Fanny is seduced by the fact he is a duke, even if he is not interested in Jane, something she cannot believe at first, and his willingness to dower her remaining four daughters. For Bennet when the Duke offers to break the entail on Longbourn, after a certain condition is met, his half-hearted opposition to the match dissipates. At first, Elizabeth refuses to marry the man, and is adamant even if dragged to the church she will never recite her vows. However, after a private meeting with the vile duke, she agrees. The question is why would she change her mind so drastically. In that meeting, she demands certain clauses to be added to the marriage settlement. What are they and how do they change outcomes some had previously expected? We explore why the Duke is looking for a wife outside of the Ton in little market towns instead. We quickly see just how depraved the man is and why he is reviled by all in polite society. Is he the only villain in the tale? Both Lady Anne and Robert Darcy are alive in this novel. Even with them both being alive, their son manages to suffer from boot-in-mouth syndrome on more than one occasion, including when he meets Lizzy for the first time, who is still married to the Duke at that point. No it is not at an assembly and there is not that insult delivered. Including the much loved Biggs and Johns, there are some of my non-canon characters featured in this story, as well as some new ones. It is not an easy path for Lizzy to travel, but she is strong and intelligent, not to mention extremely protective of those she loves. We follow her to find out if she gets the HEA we all want for her. If she does, will it be with Fitzwilliam Darcy?Join me to have these and many other questions answered.

209,95 kr. *** Warning: If you are looking for a Mary/Colonel Fitzwilliam union, this one is not for you.*** This story is a full length novel of +/- 106,000 words. This is the 2nd book in the 'Change Of' series. The first in the series is the very first book I ever wrote, 'A Change of Fortunes', which was recently re-edited and published again. This story begins with no prologue (my first ever) around the time Bingley leases Netherfield Park. As in canon, he is joined by his two sisters, Hurst, and Darcy at his estate. Some of the characters are similar to how they are in canon, while others start off differently, even before anyone has a change of heart. From early on we see the differences some changes of heart (some bigger than others) cause to the direction of the story. As the tale unfolds we will see if Darcy is still his arrogant, sometimes disdainful, self. Will Elizabeth be quick to prejudice as we know she can be? Will Caroline Bingley put on a typical performance or will she too have a change of heart? Will Collins be the sycophantic, pompous, dunderhead we have all come to love to hate? Who will he choose to as the partner of his future life with the great honour of his proposals? What of our resident snake in the grass Wickham? Will he be free to leave a path of destruction behind him and will Darcy leave him be to protect his beloved sister's reputation? Is it possible his black heart will undergo a change? We will see if these changes of heart help or hurt the romances we so like to see bloom in JAFF stories. Will those who deserve it achieve their HEA, and will evil and ill intention fail or triumph? 228,95 kr. In this the 8th book in the Take Charge Series, it is the much loved character of Colonel Richard Fitzwilliam who takes charge. Along with the characters we love (some we love to hate) there are a few who I have introduced in previous books of mine. This is a full length novel of +/- 110,000 words. We know Richard as a decisive military leader, but what style will he use when he points others in the direction he needs to? Richard is severely injured in a battle during the Napoleonic Wars on the Peninsula which effectively ends his military career. Hence he is in London when Darcy is invited to join Bingley in Hertfordshire at his leased estate, Netherfield Park. He is familiar with several of the Bennets having met them 4 years previously in London. How will he tolerate Miss Bingley? Will he be at the assembly when his cousin utters the infamous slight of our dear Lizzy? Will he be attracted to one of the Bennet sisters, and if so to which one? How will, if they do at all, Lady Catherine, Wickham, and Collins play into the tale? Will Kitty and Lydia be their silly canon selves, and if so, how will the Colonel influence them? I invite you to join me while Richard has his chance to take charge in his own distinctive way.

218,95 kr. ***This is a full length novel of a little more than 100,000 words*** Our tale begins in Hunsford with what could arguably be considered the world's worst marriage proposal. That part is close to canon, but that is the only small piece of this book which is. In London Jane Bennet has an epiphany which leaves her open to finding true love with a man not a boy. She meets a man in the park across from the Gardiner's house in London. Will she find what she is looking for with him? Is he a man who is able to support a wife? Colonel Richard Fitzwilliam pulls the reason for his cousin's melancholy from him in the time between the proposal and the delivery of the letter. The Colonel takes Darcy to task for his behaviour, especially allowing Wickham to prey on the citizens of another town. He goes to Meryton to confront the miscreant. What are the effects of his visit? In the meanwhile, Darcy delivers his famous (or infamous depending on your point of view) letter to Elizabeth the morning after the horrendous proposal. Does Elizabeth accept the letter, and if so does she read it? Hearing 'you are the last man in the world I could ever be prevailed upon to marry' playing over and over again in his head, Darcy is despondent. He meets his cousin, Anne de Bourgh, riding in her phaeton in the groves. What is said between the two, which ends up making Anne The First Mrs. Darcy? How will Lady Catherine react to her dream being fulfilled? What will Elizabeth feel when she discovers that like Mr. Collins and Charlotte, a man who proposed to her proposed to another the day after her refusal. Will ODC eventually find their HEA together? - The Take Charge Series - A Pride & Prejudice Variation
228,95 kr. In this the 7th book in the take charge series, it is the forgotten and for the most part ignored, middle Bennet sister's turn to Take Charge. It is a 110,000 word full lenght novel. Mary starts off similar to canon in that she is enamoured with moralising, dresses, and has her hair in a severe style as we would expect from a canon Mary. That is where the similarities stop. She is still the middle daughter; however she and Lizzy are twins, with Lizzy being slightly older than Mary. Her relationship with both Jane, Lizzy, and Kitty is very different than in canon, even before she Takes Charge. The story follows Mary as she begins to change and see things that she had ignored before. The questions of what causes her to change and what she does about it are answered in the tale. She has a positive effect on many around her as she begins to take charge as we see a brave and positive Mary emerge, one who decides to be her authentic self, who decides not to hide her light under a bushel any longer. With all due deference to the one and only brilliant Jane Austen, this is not our dear JA's Mary.

288,95 kr. **Warning: There are brief descriptions of domestic violence and one scene of actual violence between father and son. Please be aware of this in case you do not want to read a book that contains such. It IS NOT a theme central to the story and does not directly affect any of our main characters.** Part 1: The Earl and Countess of Matlock have lost three children before, in, or soon after childbirth (in the case of one) since the birth of their second son, Richard. Lady Matlock is once again expecting and the Earl knows that she will not survive another dead child as each time her recovery has been longer and her depression deeper. The Bennets of Longbourn are blessed with their second daughter who Mrs. Frances Bennet is convinced will be the son who will eventually end the entail. In her disappointment that she is not a son, Fanny demands that her daughter be sent to a tenant who has recently had her own son. In order to placate his wife, Mr. Thomas Bennet agrees fully believing his wife will relent within a day or two. Lord and Lady Matlock were visiting her childhood estate, in Bedfordshire, as Lady Elaine's mother is on her deathbed. Shortly after the death, the couple moves to an inn where Lady Elaine goes into labour. She gives birth to another stillborn daughter on the same day Fanny Bennet delivers Elizabeth. Her labour was a many hours in duration and Lady Elaine passed out before she is told her daughter is not living. Lord Matlock goes for a ride to think of how he is to tell his beloved wife, knowing that this could well be the end of her as she would not recover from losing a fourth baby. He finds himself near a tenant cottage on Longbourn's land, and sees a lady walking in front of her home with a newborn in arms. In the first part of our story we examine how the kidnapping changes all of those affected by it. How will the Bennets react? How will Fanny overcome the guilt of her daughter's kidnapping? How will their extended family react? Will Fanny be blamed? We also see the effects on the Fitzwilliam and Darcy families when Lady Elizabeth Tiffany Fitzwilliam, called Beth, is introduced into their lives. She effects the de Bourghs, in unexpected ways as well. Part 2: The Bennets finally learn where their daughter had been for the last 18 years. We see their reactions which range from extreme anger to joy. As would be expected, Bennet wants Lord Matlock's head on a pike and wants to charge in 'guns blazing' given that he has not seen his daughter for so many years. His family agree that he has every right to be furious with the man who kidnapped his newborn daughter. What will they tell him, if anything, to calm his ire? For Fanny Bennet it would be the first time she had ever seen the daughter she bore. Will she finally get to wrap her arms around her? What of Bennet, will he blow up Beth's life or will he take her well-being into account? Will he show restraint or will he call Matlock out? What will the first meeting between Lady Beth and her birth family be like and under what circumstances will it occur? How will the Fitzwilliams and Darcys react when they discover the truth of what the Earl of Matlock has done? Will the discovery come before or after Beth and William are married. If not, what will happen to ODC? Will George Wickham finally take his revenge and if so what form will it take and against whom will he strike? Does he finally get his just desserts, and if so, from whose perspective are those desserts just? Will he be able to strike out at Beth fulfilling the bitter Anne de Bourgh's dying wishes? All of the above questions and many more will be answered as the story of Lady Beth Fitzwilliam concludes.

- A Pride & Prejudice Variation
228,95 kr. Fate places both the Darcy and Bennet parents at the Bell Inn in Stilton on the 5th day of March 1790. Both ladies are pregnant, and both have gone into premature labour. Thomas Bennet and Robert Darcy meet while their wives are labouring. As the two become acquainted, bonding over their shared love of the written word among other things, Darcy shares that his wife has had multiple miscarriages and stillbirths and his belief that if it is another stillbirth his beloved Lady Anne will not survive. Bennet shares that his eldest daughter, Jane, is home being looked after by his mother and his worry as his wife was much larger than she had been when she carried his daughter coupled with her labours beginning early. Robert Darcy passes out from over imbibing brandy and to relax and relieve his tension, Mr. Bennet takes a walk outside. When Bennet returns, the midwife tells him that both ladies have given birth. His Fanny, who he is deeply in love with, has birthed twins, but the second one was stillborn. The other lady, he is told, birthed a healthy daughter. The Bennets depart two days later to take Elizabeth Rose home and to bury their second daughter, who they named Lydia. The second twin was of fair complexion and blond while Lizzy darker, and dark curly hair like her Grandmother Beth. Like her grandmother and namesake, Lizzy has a distinctive birthmark on her left hand. It is obvious from the story that the daughter the Darcys return to Pemberley with is in fact the Bennet's second twin. She is named Beth-Anne and as the 'miracle babe' who saved her mother from depression or worse, she is very much indulged and not often corrected. One of the questions the story answers is who separated the twins? Was it Thomas Bennet in an act of compassion, the midwife, or was it Robert Darcy to save his wife from the heartbreak of another stillborn child? Of course, at some point the twins will meet. The question is how is the truth uncovered and how will each of the sisters react, especially as they are identical twins. Many of the characters we know are present along with some not in canon.

343,95 kr. Part 1: Lady Elizbeth Bennet is the Daughter of Lord Thomas and Lady Sarah Bennet, the Duke and Duchess of Hertfordshire. She is quick to judge and anger and very slow to forgive. Fitzwilliam Darcy has learnt to rely on his own judgement above all others. Once he believes that something is a certain way, he does not allow anyone to change his mind. He ignored his mother and the result was the Ramsgate debacle, but he had not learnt his lesson yet. He mistakes information that her heard from his Aunt about her parson's relatives and with assumptions and his failure to listen to his friends the Bingleys, he makes a huge mistake and faces a very angry Lady Elizabeth Bennet. Part 2: At the end of Part 1, William Darcy saved Lady Elizabeth Bennet's life, but at what cost? After a short look into the future, part 2 picks up from the point that Part 1 ended. We find out very soon what William's fate is. We also follow the villains as they plot their revenge and try to find new ways to get money that they do not deserve. Elizabeth finally admitted that she loved William the morning that he was shot, is it too late or will love find a way? As there always are in life, there are highs and lows and this second part of three gives us a window into the ups and downs that affect our couple and their extended family.Part 3: In part 2, the Duke's Daughter became a Duchess. We follow ODC as they continue their married life as they deal with the vagaries of life. We left the villains preparing to sail from Bundoran to execute their dastardly plan. We find out if they are successful or if they fail. In this final part of the Duke's Daughter series, we get a good idea what the future holds for the characters that we have followed through the first two books in the series.

228,95 kr. In this the 6th book in the 'Take Charge' series, it is Jane Bennet's turn to shine. We discover in this story what caused Jane to take on the persona of the peacemaker, the one who always needs to see the positive regardless of the facts. Through the first few chapters we see a Jane close to the one in canon and the story follows the familiar track (to a certain extent) of the one and only great Pride & Prejudice. We arrive at a point in the early chapters where Jane is forced to re-evaluate her outlook on life which helps her to find her voice and begin to take charge. From that point on there is a divergence from the original story that this one is a variation of. What happens when Jane is pushed too far? How will she react to Bingley's abandonment, especially as this is not the first time something similar has occurred to her. This tale will tell us of Jane's first love and the reason she was sundered from her Mason. A saving grace for the three older Bennet sisters is their Grandmama Beth Bennet. What happens when Jane and some of her sisters reunite with their beloved Grandmother and discover previously unknown family members? How does Jane influence her own course with Bingley, Lizzy's with Darcy, her youngest two wild sisters, and her parents? Will Wickham be believed and will he be allowed to wreck the havoc he does in canon? This story will reveal all of the answers to the above questions and much, much more.

228,95 kr. This is a story which is loosely based on Pride & Prejudice. There are many of the same characters, but the circumstances and relationships are very much different. There are a few similarities to Jane Austen's masterpiece, but they are tangential to the main story line in this book. Lizzy is not a Bennet, and that fact is known by all right from day one. The story is about her and her family, blood and adoptive, over the years. On her 18th birthday, Lizzy's adoptive parents reveal what they know of her birth and the fact that her birthfather was a curate serving on an estate in Bedfordshire. Although no one in her adoptive family makes her feel that way, she starts to question how she will be accepted in society when it is discovered that she comes from rather humble beginnings. At some stage, her family by blood discovers Elizabeth's location and we are witness to how the reunion changes her life and that of her adoptive family. Do Lizzy and Darcy meet and if so when and under what circumstances? Is there a Jane - Bingley connection? These questions and far more are answered as you read the book. The story is a full lenght novel of about 104,000 words.

- A variation loosely based on Pride & Prejudice
228,95 kr. This variation is more loosely based on P&P than others I have written. Miss Bingley is her social-climbing and fortune-hunting best. Even though neither her brother nor sister support her aspirations, she is bound and determined to marry the future master of Pemberley, Darcy House, and all of the Darcy holdings. Bingley is a much more resolute version of himself and at some point washes his hands off his younger sister and sets her up in her own establishment in London. She lives there with a companion and lives off the interest from her dowry. Bingley wisely does not give her access to the principal. Although she is thwarted in gaining an introduction to the man she had set her cap at, she eventually makes contact with his best friend and gatekeeper. Due to circumstances which unfold, the friend works with Caroline to compromise the object of her obsession. She becomes Mrs. Caroline Darcy, but sometimes not all that glitters is gold. There are many consequences from the former Miss Bingley's behaviour, for herself, and affecting the lives of others. We follow the life of the Bennets, who although not much wealthier than we know them to be, are a much different family unit. Will ODC have their HEA or will they be derailed by outside forces? That and many other questions are answered in this book.

228,95 kr. In this, my 21st story, Thomas Bennet, unlike in canon, is born a second son. His father only cares about his heir, James, and the latter is somewhat of a bully to his younger brother. Born between the two brothers, there is a sister, Felicity, who is also ignored by Henry Bennet. Thomas and Felicity are very close. Henry is happy to sign the papers allowing Thomas to go to sea as it will save him the trouble of raising his son, and the money he would have expended educating and feeding his younger son. Henry's wife, Beth, is not happy about her son going into the navy before he is 12, but she has no influence with her husband, and he refuses to reverse his decision. Thus, when he is 11, Thomas joins the Royal Navy as a midshipman and is trained by the man who becomes his mentor and friend, Lieutenant Horatio Nelson. Fanny Gardiner does marry a Bennet, but which Bennet is revealed in the book. James Bennet is very resentful that not only is his younger brother famous, but he has earned a very large amount of prize money as well. The story shows us how that jealousy causes various characters to react. The story follows both Thomas Bennet's career in the navy and the life of his family. There are most of the characters we love, and some we love to hate, from canon, along with some of the ones I have introduced in my various books. All five Bennet daughters we know from canon are present, however which daughter is born to which Mrs. Bennet is a question which will be answered in the story.

208,95 kr. The great lady is very much like she is in canon until there is a horrific accident in 1804 where both her husband Lewis and her daughter Anne die. For a lady who believed she could control all by force of will and desire, the deaths of her family rock her world down to the foundations. She revaluates all of her priorities, changes direction, and becomes a surrogate mother to both surviving Darcys. In his will Sir Lewis leaves his estate and all of his holdings to Richard Fitzwilliam as he is the only one of his three nephews to have to shift for himself. Sir Lewis and Anne were the last alive in the de Bourgh line. Jane Bennet, after losing more than one suitor to her mother's vulgar and inappropriate behaviour has had the blinders removed. Elizabeth is no longer in awe of her father as she has had her eyes opened to his indolence and abrogation of his parental responsibility. Rather than laugh with him at his treatment of his wife and younger daughters, she understands the inappropriateness of how her father behaves. The story is close to canon with regards to the interactions between the Netherfield and Longbourn residents with the dastardly George Wickham pouring poison on our Lizzy's ear up to a point. We see a lot of that interaction through the eyes of William Collins who is very different from his portrayal in canon. Wickham is exposed, but not by Darcy. Bingley is his spineless self and allows his sister Caroline to rule his life and manipulate him while at the same time he looks to Darcy to make decisions for him. The Netherfield Party escapes to Town and Bingley deserts Jane without a word except for Miss Bingley's fiction she sends in her note and single reply to a Jane's three letters. Up to a point, Lady Catherine has taken a back seat. Unlike the lady we are used to, she does not want to insert herself into her relative's lives unless absolutely needed. When she sees too much happening which needs correcting, she decides to take charge. She leads her family in berating Darcy for his behaviour in Hertfordshire, his hauteur, and in not taking care of the scourge that is George Wickham. This story looks at how this iteration of Lady Catherine changes the trajectory of a number of character we all love, and some we dislike intensely.

238,95 kr. **This is an Elizabeth is not a Bennet Story** This story starts with one of King George III's sons marrying the love of his life secretly. The woman is a daughter of an Earl. After more than a year of marriage, all of the time with his beloved wife spent at her estate of Netherfield Park in Hertfordshire, the Prince reveals his marriage to his father hoping the elapsed time will protect them. The King orders his son to leave the lady and plans to have the marriage annulled. The King was at least convinced by his son not to annul the marriage, so instead he orders a speedy divorce. The reason was NOT that the lady was unsuitable, the opposite was true, but for political reasons, the King has promised his son's hand to a European princess to strengthen alliances for England. It saddens the King to do so, especially as this son is one he is very close to, knowing he is breaking his son's heart the King forces the divorce as the other country in question is one England sorely needs as an ally. In the meanwhile, the lady had become best of friends with Mrs. Francine Bennet of Longbourn. They met not many months after Jane was born, shortly after the lady moved into Netherfield Park. When her devastated husband informs her of the forced divorce, his wife does not inform him she is with child to try not hurt him more than he has been already. It so happens Fanny Bennet is also pregnant with her second child at the same time. Due to the ignominy of divorce and worried about the social ramifications coupled with making assumptions about what the royals would expect of them, the lady's family cut ties with her when she needs her parents more than ever. The only one she feels she has left is Fanny Bennet. A few other friends write but the broken-hearted lady is not ready to accept their overtures and respond yet. As both ladies near their confinements Thomas Bennet is called away-for what he tells his wife-is to assist his good friend from Cambridge, the Earl of Holder, in Staffordshire. He is actually investigating ways to break the entail on Longbourn. Fanny moves into Netherfield to be with her best friend during their confinements along with 2-year-old Jane. Before the final confinement, her brothers, Phillips, the solicitor, and Gardiner, the man of business are summoned. Phillips draws up a will for the lady and Gardiner is given management of her fortune. Just in case the worst happens, the lady writes a number of letters, among them one to her unborn child, one to the Prince, one to Bennet, and one to her parents as she has a plan in the event of her death. The best friends go into labour within hours of each other. Fanny delivers a stillborn son and some hours later, her friend delivers a healthy baby girl, who is the legitimate daughter of a Prince, making her a Princess. The friend has complications of birth and will not survive long. She implores her best friend-her sister of the heart-to take her daughter and raise her as her own and she will claim the dead baby son. Fanny cannot deny her friend her dying wish. The Lady names her baby Elizabeth after her grandmother. The lady charges Fanny with waiting until she feels Elizabeth is ready, to reveal her birth right to her, explaining her reasons for waiting. Other than a few small bequests to some, the lady's last will bequeaths her child all of her worldly possessions, including an enormous fortune and Netherfield Park on reaching his/her majority of 21. When Bennet returns he is introduced to, and falls in love with, his second daughter. Jane and Lizzy are both loved equally by their parents. The story looks at how the Bennets' lives are different with a much different Fanny than canon. Also how will Elizabeth and the world around her react to the news when her true heritage is revealed. The Bennets meet the Darcys and Fitzwilliams much earlier than in Miss Austen's masterpiece.

233,95 kr. None of the books in this series are purely about the title character, but how their taking charge affects those around them. Fanny Bennet dies of an apoplexy two years prior to the start of this story. As in canon, the Bingleys, Hursts, and Darcy arrive in the area residing in the leased Netherfield Park. Up until the Reverend William Collins arrival, things are not far from canon. Collins is the sycophant we all love to hate and sets his sights on Jane. Bennet tells him in no uncertain terms he will not consent to such a man marrying ANY of his daughters. Charlotte Lucas overhears Collins ranting to himself about how he will evict the Bennets from Longbourn the day Bennet passes. He then tried to woo Charlotte soon after and she too rejects him. He is derisive when she rejects him out of hand, he tells her that no man would ever offer for one on the shelf, without fortune, and as homely as her. Collins then proposes to Matilda Dudley, Lizzy's friend and Longbourn's widowered parson's daughter. Matilda accepts him much to Elizabeth and Charlotte's surprise. Collins's words to her spur Charlotte to take charge, the story tells the tale of what she does and how it affects the lives of not a few people. He was a man who had two interests: money and status. Lord Sedgewick Rhys-Davies, the 3rd Duke of Bedford sets off a chain of events that ultimately ends up doing the exact opposite of what his original evil intent was in the far future. Mr. Thomas Bennet lives with his second wife and family on his estate Longbourn in Hertfordshire. As far as he knows, he is an indirect descendant of the last Earl of Meryton whose line died out with him over 150 years ago. The family has owned Longbourn and Netherfield Park for as long as anyone remembers. There is an entail on Longbourn, but not the one we are used to. As in the canon, this Bennet dislikes London, and the Ton and he and his family keep away from London society. His second wife is the daughter of an Earl but just goes as Mrs. Bennet. The Bennet's new tenants at Netherfield Park are the Bingleys. One of the major deviations from canon in this tale, Jane Bennet has more than a little backbone while Bingley has little or none. How will Darcy behave, will he make assumptions and act on them? Will Elizabeth allow her prejudices to rule? When Wickham slithers onto the scene will he cause havoc? The 7th Duke of Bedford is ill, and he will be the end of the line as there are no living relatives to inherit the dukedom and vast Bedford holdings. He removes an old letter from a safe in his study written by the 4th Duke. Witten on the outside of the letter is: 'Open ONLY if there are no more Rhys-Davies heirs.' The Duke opens the letter and learns of the 3rd Duke's evil and there is in fact an heir, although a direct descendant, he is not a Rhys-Davies. This is the story of different families and what happens when their lives intersect and are changed for ever. There is quite a bit about Lizzy & Darcy, but there are not always the main focus of the story as the title infers.
