The investigation was undertaken on 339 sugarcane germplasm lines to study genetic variability, correlation coefficient, path coefficient, brix and crop age relationship, genetic divergence, classification based on frequency distribution and identification of potential genetic donors for different yield and quality characters. The materials for the present experiment comprised of 339 entries including 3 checks which were planted in an augmented design at scheduled planting.

But CRPF are often forgotten heroes of the forces. Being in the same profession and having a wonderful experience of about 20 years, we don¿t doubt the value of the topic but there is a tendency in focusing on only the importance of police organizations to squeeze the services and sacrifices of CRPF employees out of the picture. While the CRPF employees can have clearer picture about the pros and cons of the VRS and can take a cue from the experience and perceptions of the VRS opted employees, whereas employer can take decisions on planning and introduction of such schemes. The other major significance here is to understand the reactions and perceptions of the employees who continued with CRPF, so that necessary steps can be taken to rejuvenate the motivation levels of the employees who stayed back.

Maize (Zea mays L.; 2n = 20) is a new world coarse cereal belonging to the family Poaceae and tribe Maydeae. Maize is known as the ¿queen of cereals¿ due to its highest productivity among the cereals followed by rice and wheat. Maize grain contains about 70 per cent starch, 9 percent protein, 2 per cent sugar, 4 per cent oil. In India, maize is grown in both kharif and rabi seasons with a share of 85 per cent and 15 percent, respectively. The maize is cultivated for grain, fodder, green cobs, sweet corn, baby corn, popcorn, throughout the year. The predominant maize production states are Karnataka 12.38 per cent, Maharashtra 12.33 per cent and Madhya Pradesh 12.32 per cent. The development of hybrids is important to increase yield per se and enhance resistance for important diseases. So, the selection is done based on per se performance, genetic diversity and combining ability of the parents. The concept of line × tester analysis was developed by Kempthorne (1957). It is a modified form of a top cross used for measuring general and specific combining ability variances and effects in a large number of germplasm lines at a time.

A parabolic trough solar collector uses a mirror in the shape of a parabola to reflect and concentrate sun¿s radiations towards a receiver tube located at the focus line of the parabola.In this book a prototype Parabolic Trough Concentrator has been designed, fabricated and experimentally analysed for its feasibility in hot water generation In India. Water is used as heat carrying fluid in absorber tube. The results obtained shows that the production of heating water using the sun flux is a viable undertaking. Improvement of tracking system and the optical efficiency can improve the efficiency of fabricated Parabolic Trough Collector. Reduced mass flow rate or with different mass flow rate efficiency of prototype Parabolic Trough Collector can further be increased.
