"Tuesday" is the annual anthology of the Oregon Coast's most prestigious and oldest writers' group. Selections represent some of the best poetry, memoir, and fiction of this Pacific northwest region. Established in 1990 by Ruth F. Harrison, the Tuesday Writers comprises the longest continuously-running writer group on the Oregon coast. This is our annual anthology, which includes award-winning works of poetry and prose by Ruth F. Harrison, Shirley Plummer, Sandra Mason, Brenda Croghan, Aron Rothstein, Rhea N. Russell, Wendy Green, and Stanley Buck.

For many of us, life maybe successful but not fulfilling. We are proficient at what we do, and we excel in our careers, yet we are somehow incomplete. There is a uniqueness in each of us that makes us different. This uniqueness is what I call the competitive edge. The secret to living a successful and fulfilling life is being intentional about finding and activating your competitive edge. I am Sandra Mason, a retired laboratory supervisor, mother and grandmother, and a widow for 18 years. When my best friend died my drug of choice was "busy". Being busy took me to a place of mental and physical destruction. Finding and activating my competitive edge not only saved my life but also taught me how to live again.

Instead of a person's uniqueness being a negative obstacle that must be overcome, Sandra calls this a "competitive edge" that God uses to bring glory to Himself and good to those she lovingly calls a "Blue Duck." As you read her book you will immediately be drawn into her storytelling style as she weaves Biblical principles along with her personal testimony into a familiar story that will resonate with you too-if you have the nature of a Blue Duck.This is a book that needs to be read more than once.
