The last ten years have seen dramatic developments in our understanding of the surface science of nanoparticles grown on solid surfaces. This book covers important aspects of these areas as well as outlining developments including in-situ measurements of catalytic reactivity at high pressure and temperature.

Gold focuses on the origins of high catalytic activity observed with gold nanoparticles. This book brings together the catalysis and surface science communities with materials scientists and theoreticians, so that new insights can be gained.
