An overview of programming languages: assembly language, procedural languages, and functional languages.This book is intended for readers who have a good foundation in writing code in some high level language (C++ or Java would be fine). The goal is to introduce compiler and interpreter concepts and implement various languages within the four parts of the text.- Part I focuses on assembly language and builds an interpreter for KCODE- Part II focuses on introducing procedural languages and builds a compiler for CALC- Part III builds on Part II to elaborate on specific topics within compiler construction and builds a compile for KIZE- Part IV focuses on functional programming and ultimately builds an interpreter for SKEME

Hildegard von Bingen (1098 - 1179) war Benediktinerin, Dichterin und eine bedeutende Universalgelehrte ihrer Zeit. In der römisch-katholischen Kirche wird sie als Heilige und Kirchenlehrerin verehrt. Hildegard von Bingen gilt als erste Vertreterin der deutschen Mystik des Mittelalters. Ihre Werke befassen sich mit Religion, Medizin, Musik, Ethik und Kosmologie. Sie war auch Beraterin vieler Persönlichkeiten. Bekannt ist, dass Hildegard in den 1150er Jahren auch medizinische Abhandlungen verfasste. Nach 1150 verfasste Hildegard mit Causae et Curae (Ursachen und Heilungen) ein Buch über die Entstehung und Behandlung von verschiedenen Krankheiten. Das zweite der naturkundlichen Werke heißt Liber subtilitatum diversarum naturarum creaturarum, was auf Deutsch so viel bedeutet wie "Buch über das innere Wesen (Beschaffenheit und Heilkraft) der verschiedenen Kreaturen und Pflanzen", weshalb Hildegard heute teilweise als erste deutsche Ärztin bezeichnet wird. Diese naturkundlichen Werke zählen u. a. zu den Standardwerken der mehr esoterisch orientierten Naturheilkunde. Zu ihrer Zeit waren Ärzte Klostermediziner und angebliche Wunderheiler; es gab kein wissenschaftliches Medizinstudium.
