The new leaders of the varsity team, Payton and Renika are ready to take it to the next level by getting the Hickory Academy volleyball team to State for the first time. But when Renika takes her leadership responsibilities a little too seriously, things begin to spin out of control. Payton, on the other hand, is too busy trying to find her lost passion for the game to notice or help her friend who has become less of a leader and more of a drill sergeant. Will the team find its groove and learn balance between fun and serious play, or will their opponents keep them looking for Block City?

Payton and Renika are back for another season of Hickory Adams High volleyball action. Payton still hasn't quite figured out how to transfer her superstar basketball skills to the volleyball court and the new JV players are all too aware of her lack of skill even through the coach still has her starting. When Renika tries to intervene and pull the JV team together, she finds that the new girl Val is out to sabotage Payton's authority, resulting in a divided team that can't compete. Will Payton help the JV team get it together or will they fall apart and lose their chance to be Queens of the Court.

Payton quickly finds that her superior basketball talent doesn't translate to the volleyball court, resulting in a divided team and a rift between Payton and her best friend Renika, whose natural ability for volleyball earns her a starting position on the varsity team. Will Payton get it together in time to help her team make it to State or will she be left behind while Renika gets Bumped Up?
