Baill., a tropical plant in Eastern South Asia and Southeast Asia, serves both as a vegetable and traditional herb for addressing various health issues. Despite its economic and nutritional importance in urban agriculture, FAO statistics overlook its contributions. In Thailand, extracts from Neptunia oleracea display antioxidant activity, while in Vietnam, it is cultivated in the ponds for vegetables. Isolated phenolic compounds from water mimosa show promising in DPPH free radical scavenging and ¿-glucosidase inhibition. The plant exhibits potential as an anti-cancer agent, reducing C-Myc and PERK ¿ protein levels. Latest study revealed the amount of N2 fixation by water mimosa was 4.38-13.64 mg/pot. and the transfer from the rice was 3.97-9.54 mg/pot. WHO report approximately 80% of the world population incorporating plant based drugs into their healthcare practices. Water mimosa cultivation providing daily income, especially in North East India. However, despite profitability, traditional cultivation lacks standardization. If standardized, it will enhance sustainability and elevate its status as a dependable income.

609,95 kr. Parthenium has been rapidly spreading globally and continually affecting our health, livestock, flora and environment. The fast invasion of this weed is attributed to its wide adaptability to extreme soil and climatic conditions, ability to grow throughout the year, shorter life cycle, and easy dispersal by wind, water and movement of vehicle and animals coupled with the absence of natural enemies like insects and diseases. The present book, therefore, provides information about the proliferation of Parthenium and its impact on natural flora and certain economically important plants. Management of Parthenium problems using biological control is also analyzed in this book. The book should help shed some light on management of Parthenium problems, and should be especially useful to professionals in Environmental and Agricultural fields.
