- What You Need to Know
118,95 kr. Although this book focuses on KDP (Kindle Direct Publishing), much of the content applies to other self-publishing services. Some say self-publishing is "doing all the work yourself". Not exactly. There are many services that can help the "self-publishing" process. These services can include several types of editing, marketing, content design, layout, cover design, collateral creation, online sales, printing, distribution, and more. Taking advantage of these services may allow you more opportunity to focus on creativity. But you must establish your self-publishing goals and identify viable helpers along the way. These steps include assessing yourself, and assessing and evaluating self-publisher service candidates, selecting and negotiating a work plan, paying a service fee, and marketing/selling your book. There is a lot to deal with. Compared to "traditional publishing", self-publishing can dramatically accelerate the process of getting your book "out there", and can result in higher per-book revenues.

118,95 kr. What if you could do something that you always wanted to do but did not have the experience or knowledge to do, or even to attempt? Developing that ability is the goal of the Mind-Memory Institute. What if you could achieve in days what might take years of schooling and life experience? The open-ended question, "What If ...?", breaks us out of fixed thinking and invites technology, processes, techniques, and discipline into our lives. Here we follow Ralph, Sadie, Albert, and Mark, volunteer subjects/clients participating in experiments to accelerate gaining experience and creating opportunities for themselves. Each has selected a personal goal in art, music, mathematics, and writing respectively, achieves the goal, and then discovers greater goals.Dr. Rene Philippe, founder and Executive Director of the Institute, encouraged by his own personal success in accelerating his own development using linguistics and hypnosis, leads a team of mentors, Gina, Brad, Meghan, and Riley, in research and developing strategies for enhancing, tailoring, and proliferating neuroscientific theories. Dr. Philippe abruptly resigns his positions at the Institute and the University.Along the way, the institute mentors guiding the subjects become subjects themselves. What If...an Exploration into the Mind is speculative fiction, fiction turning into fact, and possibly already somewhere is fact.

- The Mississippi Freedom Democratic Party: A Case Study of the Rise (and Fall) of Insurgency
228,95 kr. The Mississippi Freedom Democratic Party (MFDP)...gives us some of our most inspiring examples of grassroots leaders and some profound lessons about the limits of mid-twentieth-century liberalism.-Prof. Charles M. Payne, author I've Got the Light of Freedom: The Organizing Tradition in the Mississippi Civil Rights Movement. This powerful account of the rise and fall of the Mississippi Freedom Democratic Party (MFDP) is essential reading, both for those who want to understand what happened to the 1960s civil rights movement in the Deep South and the nation, and for those active today to bring freedom, equality and justice to the United States. It is especially relevant in this period of widespread discussion of racism in America. MFDP sought to replace the racist "regulars" of the Mississippi Democratic Party with a Black-led, movement informed, Democratic Party. It emerged from a parallel organizing process involving young African-American organizers and activists, and their generational elders. It invited both poor, formally illiterate, and middle-class Black Mississippians into leadership positions. The Politics of Change carefully analyzes the status quo forces of cooptation and marginalization with which social change efforts must contend. Equally important, it examines internal weaknesses within organizations that must be overcome to achieve significant social change. Today, when people talk about the racial integration of the political process in Mississippi, they summarize what happened in four words: Mississippi Freedom Democratic Party.

88,95 kr. Hundred of books have been published about Florida writers. This small book focuses only on writers that I have enjoyed and who are no longer alive at the time of publication in January 2017. The volume includes both fiction and non-fiction authors. All of them have some things in common: they all wrote books and stories with Florida story lines and settings, and they are all dead. Many of them lived in Florida, but not all of them. Each article about an author includes a photograph, birth date, and date of death. This book is my effort to keep their memories alive through introducing them and their writing to a new audience whom I hope will enjoy their work as much as I have.

238,95 kr. What Would Your Sex Life Be Like If You Could Bottom Without Pain? You'd have earthshattering orgasms. You'd experience the erotic pleasure of submitting to your partner's hardness. Sex would be more interesting because you'd add a whole new dimension to it. So what stops you? Pain. Or the fear of pain. The anticipation of it. If you're like a lot of guys, you've either tried and failed to bottom because it hurt too much or you wouldn't let yourself try because of "anticipatory anxiety" -the belief that you have to go through a lot of pain to get to the pleasure of bottoming. You might also be struggling with the "ick factor." A lot of guys are grossed out by anal sex. If you don't know how to get clean down there, the smell and the potential to leave tire tracks behind you can put you off completely. "The Sexhalation Method" Will Completely Eliminate Anal Sex Pain. Mike Alvear, the gay sex columnist and co-host of HBO's The Sex Inspectors, teamed up with colo-rectal specialists, a respiratory psychophysiologist and a yoga guru to create The Sexhalation Method. - A Brief Introduction
83,95 kr. This book provides a brief introduction to what is variously called "faith-based," "congregation-based," and "institution-based" community organizing. Grounded in a composite case study of an actual organizing effort, it shows how local communities can be organized for power. Key organizing concepts and strategies are illustrated with stories of real encounters with leaders, communities, and powerful opposition figures. In the approach described here, civic and religious institutions come together to give the community a collective voice. Organizers help a community build a powerful organization rooted in core values of democracy and the social justice teachings of the world's great religious traditions. Saul Alinsky developed the foundations of the tradition of organizing described here, an approach that remains dominant in the U.S. today. Alinsky rooted power deeply in the lives, relationships and institutions of marginalized and oppressed people. In his early organizing days, his organizations brought together a wide range of institutions: religious congregations and labor unions, as well as mutual aid, self-help, athletic, sororal and fraternal, neighborhood and other voluntary associations. By the late 1970s, as non-congregational neighborhood associations fell into decline, organizers in the Alinsky tradition started looking more carefully at how to sustain the vibrancy of the religious institutions that remained. Organizers sought to help congregation members become co-creators, rather than consumers, of the life of their churches, and worked to help members connect their faith more directly to action in the world. In this way, they helped make both faith and the action more meaningful. This little book tells the story of one congregation that was a member of a "broadly-based community organization," and how a community organizer assisted its development as a true community.
