The highest blood sugar level I have had in a medical test is 293 mg/dl (16.28 mmol/L). People don't come back from that level, but I did. It took me four weeks to research type 2 diabetes, and a further eight weeks to bring my blood sugar levels back into the normal range. That was more than five years ago, and for the most part, they have stayed there ever since. You probably noticed I used the words "for the most part", and that was deliberate because type 2 diabetes is like an invader in your house. You can push him out, and you can build fences to keep him out, but if you drop your guard he can sneak back in. This book is about one thing, and one thing only, and that is how to balance blood sugar levels. When the Russian army used to attack in the days of Czarist Russia they would often attack from five different directions at once. An attack like that is devastating, and can easily overwhelm an enemy. Type 2 diabetes is your enemy, make no mistake about it. If you want to win, then you must attack like the Russian army, from a multitude of different directions. I fought type 2 diabetes and won. Come with me on a journey and see if you can do what I did.

Simon Etheridge is one of a select band of men and women who can travel between worlds. There are many different versions of earth and many of them have humans on them. Every world is at a different stage of development but one thread runs true across nearly all the human worlds. Many of those worlds are ruled by a shape shifting reptilian race masquerading as humans and our world is no different. Simon has visited worlds where humans rule and our world is not one of them. Many people go to their jobs, bring their families up and live their lives with no idea that the ruling classes in many countries in the world are infested with shape shifting reptilians. Simon is determined to change that but the older people who can travel between worlds are cautious, not wanting to change the status quo. Because Simon is dangerous, Julia has been appointed as his guardian and mentor and she has guided him in the development of his powers. When on vacation on an island in Florida, Simon comes across a reptilian gateway to another world. He acts quickly before anyone can stop him, enters the gateway and kills the reptilian who controls it. Now there is a bounty on Simon's head and those who can travel between worlds have been told to give him up. Julia is determined to hide Simon on another world but first she must lure those out who would kill him. There is a bounty of much gold on his head so Simon will be sought by both humans and reptilians.

"After Humanity is a guide to one of C.S. Lewis's most widely admired but least accessible works, The Abolition of Man, which originated as a series of lectures on ethics that he delivered during the Second World War. These lectures tackle the thorny question of whether moral value is objective or not. When we say something is right or wrong, are we recognizing a reality outside ourselves, or merely reporting a subjective sentiment? Lewis addresses the matter from a purely philosophical standpoint, leaving theological matters to one side. He makes a powerful case against subjectivism, issuing an intellectual warning that, in our "post-truth" twenty-first century, has even more relevance than when he originally presented it. Lewis characterized The Abolition of Man as "almost my favourite among my books," and his biographer Walter Hooper has called it "an all but indispensable introduction to the entire corpus of Lewisiana." In After Humanity, Michael Ward sheds much-needed light on this important but difficult work, explaining both its general academic context and the particular circumstances in Lewis's life that helped give rise to it, including his front-line service in the trenches of the First World War. After Humanity contains a detailed commentary clarifying the many allusions and quotations scattered throughout Lewis's argument. It shows how this resolutely philosophical thesis fits in with his other, more explicitly Christian works. It also includes a full-color photo gallery, displaying images of people, places, and documents that relate to The Abolition of Man, among them Lewis's original "blurb" for the book, which has never before been published" --

Unlock the secret to Narnia that has mystified readers for over half a century . . .Millions of people have been captivated by C. S. Lewis's classic Chronicles of Narnia--but some questions have never been successfully answered. Why are there seven books? Why are only three of them obvious biblical allegories? Does the series lack coherence, as Lewis's critics (and even some of his friends) claimed? Many have attempted to discover the organizing key-- the "secret code"--of the series, but the structure of Narnia's symbolism has remained a mystery. Until now. In The Narnia Code, Michael Ward presents an astonishing literary discovery. Drawing on the whole range of Lewis's writings, Ward reveals the single subject that provides the link between all seven novels. He explains how Lewis structured the series, why he kept the code secret, and what it shows about his understanding of the universe and the Christian faith. Originally published as the groundbreaking scholarly work Planet Narnia, this accessible adaptation holds the key to reading the Chronicles and understanding Lewis in a whole new way.
