- The Family Reunion
108,95 kr. Two kids, Marty and Jenny, had just turned 12 and had been going through hard times. Friends since forever, their relationship took a surprising turn, maybe towards something more...Every story has its own time and place. This narrative takes place in the Tennessee River Valley in the summer of 1962 and reflects the language and 'moeurs' (that's French for 'customs and manners') of a Southern family and their New England relatives.Right off the bat, when they first met at 7 years old, Marty and Jenny became best friends. As time went on, despite seeing each other only one week a year, their friendship never wavered. Month in and month out, they wrote to each other (long distance phone calls at the time were insanely expensive, especially between Nashville and Boston). In their letters, they shared their innermost thoughts. Even things boys and girls don't usually talk about to each other. These tête-à-tête (that's French for 'intimate conversations') were fascinating to both, seeing as Marty grew up as one of three brothers (with no sisters), and Jenny, one of three sisters (with no brothers). Beyond just getting the points-of-view of the opposite sex, though, they simply loved learning things from each other. To them, that their ways of thinking were so different, was a definite bonus.Marty was a brainiac with a phenomenal memory. He was able to remember every word of every book he ever read. Unheard of at the time, he started taking college classes when he was 9 years old. However, he had Asperger's Syndrome and was socially clumsy, to say the least. Jenny, though not on Marty's scholarly level, was brilliant in her own right. More important though, was her incredible insight and empathy, unusual in one so young. Especially with Marty, she was was patient, but dogged in helping him on his social skills, teaching him figurative expressions (in his words, 'non-literal language'), explaining non-verbal communications (like facial expressions) and coaching him on 'dumbing down' his professorial vocabulary when talking to kids his own age. To cut a long story short, she was his mentor and was passionately devoted to him. He returned the favor, answering her questions from his eclectic and encyclopedic knowledge of anatomy, history, languages, mathematics, and psychology (a few among his many interests).Note from the editor: This book aimed at mature adolescents (16+) and adults. While it doesn't contain profanity (except for some mild swearwords in French) nor erotic material, the narratives do contain frank discussions of sexuality (using only correct terminology and no slang terms). If this material would be upsetting, this book is not for you.

- Jenny's Journal
108,95 kr. Writing down her experiences in a journal wasn't Jenny's idea. Dr. Jameson, the school's psychologist, asked her to do it as a part of her therapy, as a way to come to terms with her trauma. What started off as an assignment to recount the events of a single week turned into a chronicle covering several months, an entire semester. Jenny's journal ended up being more memoire than journal. In it, she recounts her father's abuse at the end of the summer of 1961 - the incident that turned her life upside down. She tells how Karen, her older sister, came up with a wild scheme to keep her away from their father. A scheme that got Jenny enrolled as a boarding student at the Emma Hart Willard Preparatory Academy, the elite boarding school for girls in Marblehead, Massachusetts, up the coast from Boston. Jenny gives an account of the events of that Fall from her point of view with a candor and reflection rare in one so young. This new edition contains letters Marty and Jenny exchanged two years after Jenny's ordeal with her father, as well as notes from Jenny to Dr. Jameson about her therapy sessions.Note from the editor: This book aimed at mature adolescents (16+) and adults. While it doesn't contain profanity (except for some mild swearwords, mostly in French) nor erotic material, the narratives do contain frank discussions of sexuality (using only correct terminology and no slang terms). If this material would be upsetting, this book is not for you.

- The First 90 Days and Beyond. An Operating Guide for New Sales Managers
276,95 kr. Welcome to Sales Management is written for those who aspire to sales management; those who recently assumed sales management responsibilities for the first time; and those who have received little if any formal sales management training.During the first three months on the job it's easy for a new sales manager to take a wrong turn, run in circles or even get lost. This happens to all new managers. WSM is divided into three parts each providing a road map to guide rookie sales manager through their first 90 days and beyond. Part One serves as an introduction to the sales management process and addresses the initial actions taken during the first month on the job. Each action is designed to prepare new managers for their new role. Various methods are offered to assess the sales effectiveness of their teams. Part Two focuses on the disciplines that comprise the sales management process and the skills needed to successfully execute each discipline. There is no time frame associated with Part Two. It can take years or an entire career to master the disciplines and skills associated with the process. Few managers master all of them.Part Three concentrates on launching a new sales manager's career; creating a team action plan; establishing a winning environment; and reviewing several examples of proactive management. These activities take approximately 60 days to initiate or complete. The final chapter encourages new managers to lead and learn as they go and to not be afraid to make mistakes. Summaries are included at the conclusion of each chapter for periodic review and to keep a new sales manager moving in the right direction. An appendix offers an assortment of sales management tools.
