378,95 kr. Award winning Deco for Divers provides a comprehensive overview of the principles underlying decompression theory. Mark Powell has written a book that for the first time allows the average diver to fully understand the principles behind this fascinating aspect of diving. This book bridges the gap between introductory books and source scientific information. What I wanted was an intermediate overview that went into more detail but wasn't written for academics or researchers. When I became a technical diving instructor I started teaching other people about decompression theory. I tried to give an overview of decompression theory at this intermediate level to give my students a better understanding of what was happening during decompression dives. This was always very popular amongst divers who, like me, had always wanted to understand more about the concepts and models underlying decompression theory. I was always being asked if I could recommend a good book which covered this area but as before, there was no such text available. Over time I started giving out notes for the decompression theory portion of my courses and these notes started building. Initially they were just a few pages but the notes became more and more comprehensive and started to cover more and more areas. Eventually they grew into this book.

Shy Walsh might be the greatest female fighter of her time, but a loss in a Vegas title fight, and the sneaking suspicion that she wanted to lose, sends her reeling back to her Central Florida home and her dying mother. She needs some perspective, she needs to pull herself together. But one day she meets Thomas Clayton, a doctor recently released from prison, and everything changes. They fall in love, maybe, but Tommy has his own demons, and what begins as an attempt to build a life together quickly devolves into a criminal enterprise that spans the state. Helpless in the face of addiction and guilt, and, most especially, the peculiar brokenness of being American in the 21st Century, Shy and Tommy descend into a nightmare existence of crime and isolation.Hurricane Season is a noir thriller about fighting and addiction, prison and drugs; but more than that, it is a love story set in the carnage of an America wrecked by inequality.Early Praise"Brutal and poetic, Mark Powell's story will retune your heart strings, you'll begin with a triple-espresso and end with triple-shots of Kentucky bourbon and no chaser, it's a smooth burn." -Frank Bill, author of Back to the Dirt"In Hurricane Season Mark Powell writes about the places where America happens - its hospitals, prisons, fighting gyms, and roadside motels. This is an indispensable work of fiction about the contemporary South in all its tragic complexities. A book brimming with heart, as propulsive as it is wise." -Caleb Johnson, author of Treeborne

But business has got bogged down in the process of collecting and storing that data; money has been wasted on data lakes in which many IT departments have drowned without being able to deliver useful insights to business leaders. Big data has new and exciting answers to offer, but business leaders must first decide what questions it would like to see answered. Data may be the new oil, but to date we have only built oil depots. This book analyses the new, Fourth Wave of business transformation, which will build the refineries that turn data into useful products. Business has started from 'data up' and needs to start again from 'value down', going back to the drivers of real business value and deciding what insights would help realize that value. Only then can we begin to interrogate data with purpose.

Richard and Clara Greaves live in a stone manor paid for by the bank Richard founded three decades ago. Their oldest son, Jack, is the high school athletic director, their daughter, Emily, the county solicitor. Their youngest son, Tom, is a former champion on American Ninja. Their lives appear charmed, at least until the October weekend when they begin to unravel, quickly and publicly. In the wake of shady business transactions, a floundering marriage, and Tom' s new Leonard Cohen tattoo-- the Greaves are so harried no one seems to have realized the family matriarch has suffered a stroke. Into this chaos comes Nayma, a young Mexican-American woman in a very white town, lonely Elvis, war veteran and high school groundskeeper, and Dr. Elias Agnew, a high school teacher existing behind a facade of dissimulation-- all of whom challenge traditional notions of what it means to be southern, and what it means to be accepted, particularly when the old ways begin to crumble."--Page [4] of cover.

Set in the East End of London, it tells the story of two brothers who, through tragedy and desperation, set out on two different journeys away from home. The plot is intense, the style compelling and the language fierce. A must-read for anyone interested in modern fiction and experimental storytelling. In the words of THE INDEPENDENT ON SUNDAY it's "a little classic."

Their personalities and cultural backgrounds at first seem at complete odds. Unbeknown to them, their futures are very much aligned. Through the twists and turns of a potential relationship, and the trials and tribulations of sorrow, love, friendship, courage and the Duxton Hotel's fight for survival, Clara discovers that her tendency to fall in love too fast for every single male she encounters, needs some adjustment. Her life is about to completely turn upside down when she inherits the hotel from its billionaire owner Mr Chan, but through having to lead and re-brand the hotel towards its new beginning, she inadvertently overcomes a sensitive and socially difficult medical condition. In the meantime, her love for Nicholas develops, deepens and blossoms as a result of her new found confidence, on which a new life and hotel empire begins.
