Marie Luise Auguste Petersen (1816-1859) war eine deutsche Schriftstellerin. Aus dem Buch: "Ein breiter Strom hellen Sonnenscheins fiel, durch zerrissenes Gewölk, auf die grüne Lichtung des Waldes, die von vorspringenden Bergesrücken, auf halber Höhe des Gebirges, den Blick ungehindert in''s Weite schweifen läßt. - Arm in Arm geschlungen, standen dort zwei jugendliche Wanderer und schauten mit leuchtenden Augen auf das in Wolken und Abendschatten gehüllte Land zu ihren Füßen."

Marie Luise Auguste Petersen (1816-1859) war eine deutsche Schriftstellerin. Marie Petersen litt schon kurz nach der Geburt an einer chronischen Rückgratverkrümmung, die auch Aufenthalte in orthopädischen Anstalten in Berlin nicht beheben konnten. Aufgrund ihrer körperlichen Erkrankung war Marie Petersen an ihre Heimatstadt gebunden. Im Jahr 1851 unternahm sie eine einzige Reise in den Harz, die Auslöser für ihre schriftstellerische Betätigung wurde. Ein Reisebrief, den sie an einen Verwandten geschickt hatte, wurde unter dem Titel Prinzessin Ilse. Ein Märchen aus dem Harzgebirge 1852 anonym veröffentlicht. Die Schrift wurde ein großer Erfolg, sodass von der 12. Auflage an auch ihr Name auf dem Titel genannt wurde. Aus dem Buch: "In seinen Augen, die so tief blickten, war Prinzessin Ilse eben Nichts als ein unartig Kind, und darum sagte er nicht "Hoheit" zu ihr und nicht "Durchlaucht", sondern ganz schlechtweg: "Liebe Ilses" "Liebe Ilses", sprach also der Engel, "wenn du aber aus eigner Wahl hier oben geblieben bist und es tief unter deiner Würde hieltest, mit den anderen Wassern in die Ebene zu ziehen, so mußt du ja ganz zufrieden hier oben sein, und ich begreife gar· nicht, warum du dich so anstellst und weinest und lamentirst."
