El descubrimiento del catalán, las pandillas enfrentadas, las viviendas de la obra social, los padres trabajando en las fábricas metalúrgicas o textiles, las fiestas populares, los primeros flirteos políticos, el reparto de octavillas, la creación de las casas regionales y las peñas flamencas...Desde los inicios más amateurs y los primeros contactos con el flamenco hasta la relación profesional y de amistad con figuras tan destacadas como Enrique Morente, Camarón, Tete Montoliu, Mayte Martín o Miguel Poveda, la vida de Lorenzo Almendro, esto es, de Luis Cabrera, nos hace partícipes de una época de revuelta y de descubrimiento llena de música, ideales y talento.Luis Cabrera (Jaén, 1954) es un músico y escritor residente en Barcelona desde 1964. En la década de los 70 da un impulso a la Peña Flamenca Enrique Morente en el barrio de Verdum. Y a partir de aquí, no deja de involucrarse en los movimientos sociales, desde la demolición de la planta de asfalto (actualmente Ateneu Popular de Nou Barris) del barrio de Trinitat Nova, hasta la publicación y distribución de El libro rojo de los escolares. En 1979 fundó el Taller de Músics, que ha modificado sustancialmente la actividad relacionada con el jazz y el flamenco en la península Ibérica. En 2005 publicó Els altres andalusos. El año 2010 publica en solitario un ensayo sobre las contradicciones de la identidad en Catalunya: Catalunya serà impura o no será.
