The 92 hiragana and katakana characters are all presented with illustrations and mnemonic descriptions designed to enable learners to intuitively memorize the shapes and readings of the characters. Also, this book allows learners to recognize variations in a character's shape through the use of different fonts, distinguish characters that look alike, and practice writing the kana. Drills covering 10 characters each are provided at the end of the book. This book can be effectively used for both the classroom and self-study.
