This historical novel enables the reader to see how Carlo countered the dangerous threats of impious clergy and of Christians who saw Rome's Pontiff as the Anti-Christ. Carlo's childhood friend, the skillful swordsman Robert Vecchi, was not as saintly as Carlo, but faithfully engaged the omnipresent enemy including the Ottoman fleet at Lepanto, and Carlo's political foes in Rome and Milan. Careful and factual attention is paid in the novel to the inner workings and intrigues of Church politics and the decisions reached through the Council of Trent as saint and prideful sinner used their unique skills to reach their individual goals.

Following the Pattern examines the environment in which Jesus was born, the parents on whom he would be dependent, and the education which would one day enable his human lips to speak the words of God with authority. Jesus led an exemplary life, and we are asked to emulate it, but to emulate it we must meditate on what his life in an Israeli culture might have been like. While the Son of God worked with human hands and thought with a human mind, we assume Jesus possessed only that divine knowledge required by his age-stage. He functioned as a normal person would, being born into a world of the Scriptures and living the life we wish to pattern ourselves after. He was humble enough to recognize authority and meek enough to obey such authority. As his stature grew, the revelations needed to teach and influence others were given to his human nature to the extent his divine mission necessitated. Gerade mit Blick auf die kommende Bundestagwahl 2013 stellt sich immer wieder die Frage, wovon Wähler ihre Entscheidung abhängig machen, wem sie ihre Stimme bei Wahlen geben. Die Wahlforschung als einer der bedeutendsten Zweige der Politikwissenschaft hat sich als Ziel gesetzt, Wahlverhalten zu untersuchen und zu erklären. Sie befragt, analysiert, prognostiziert und ist immer auf der Suche nach der Antwort auf die Frage: "Wer wählt wen warum?" Das in der 60er Jahren an der University of Michigan entwickelte Ann-Arbor-Modell erhebt den Anspruch, das Wahlverhalten der Bürger durch deren Identifikation mit einer Partei, ihre Bewertung der Kandidaten und ihre persönliche Position zu politischen Sachfragen erklären zu können. Die anhaltende Dominanz des Modells in der Wahlforschung scheint dem Ansatz Recht zu geben. Doch ist das Modell auch noch heute, rund 50 Jahre später- trotz Dealignment und Politikverdrossenheit - überhaupt noch anwendbar? Um zu überprüfen, ob sich die Theorie auch noch zur heutigen Zeit in die Praxis umsetzen lässt, soll dies anhand einer Anwendung des Modells auf die Bundestagswahl 2009 empirisch analysiert werden. Bei dieser Wahl erzielte die SPD mit 23% das schlechteste Ergebnis in der Parteigeschichte und verlor im Vergleich zur Bundestagswahl 2005 11 Prozentpunkte an Zweitstimmen. Die Verluste der SPD waren mit über 6 Millionen abgewanderten Wählern von allen Parteien am größten. Die meisten Wähler verlor sie jedoch nicht an andere Parteien, sondern über zwei Millionen an das Lager der Nichtwähler. Daher soll in dieser Arbeit untersucht werden, ob mit Hilfe des Ann-Arbor-Modells erklärt werden kann, warum die Wählerschaft der SPD bei der Bundestagswahl 2009 für ihre Partei gestimmt bzw. sich der Wahl enthalten hat.

The aim of the study is to investigate the effect an implementation of a 7th court player has on the efficiency to score for teams of the German DKB Handball-Bundesliga. The study will fill the gap in analyzing the changes following the amendment of rule 4:1 with the highest number of cases (n= 2,336) of all studies published yet with a qualitative as well as quantitative, mixed-methods design. Moreover, practical training and coaching implications will be discussed. A measurement theoretical approach will be performed together with interference statistical connections. The variable, goal or no goal, will be the dichotomous variable in a cross sectional design. The sample consists of all DKB Handball-Bundesliga teams that were part of the first league during the last 2 years since the amendment of rule 4:1. This led to 15 teams having 2 years and 6 teams having 1 year of analysis due to relegation. Change of ball possession was the category, which defined a finished attack. An exception was made for 7m penalties awarded in the respective player constellation.
