- An Overview
76,95 kr. This subject has arguably sparked the greatest theological debate among Christians in history. It has an impact on how we understand salvation, Bible interpretation, evangelism, Christian living, the character of God, and other issues. This is a subject that every new believer needs to interact with because they'll be faced with it sooner or later. In this article we'll overview both positions and look at some of the Scripture each side uses for support. The article is meant to challenge, stir thinking, and encourage the reader in love to consider what the rest of Scripture has to say on this issue instead of simply the verses they know or what their church has taught them. As Proverbs 18:17 says, "The one who states his case first seems right, until the other comes and examines him." If all we ever know is what we're told from the first person who told us, we feel pretty secure... at least until we begin reading the Bible for ourselves. I share the story of my own journey on this issue and what led me to begin studying and to look at the Bible in a way I never had before. I hope that whether or not you disagree with the conclusions I came to, that you'll allow God to speak through His Word as you consider seriously what it has to say on these matters, for His truth is the ultimate authority.*All proceeds go to support my wife and I as we are at seminary.

- An Exegetical Response to the Favorite Passages of Those Who Hold to Baptismal Regeneration
75,95 kr. I was saved in a Non-denominational "Christian Church." After being there a few years, in 2006 I began to notice that the Christian Church movement primarily taught that water baptism was a part of how someone is saved. Though the church where I attended didn't believe this, they would fellowship with many who did. This troubled me so much that after speaking with the pastor, I had to find a new church home. Years later I met the woman who would be my wife who was also saved in this movement but who had never studied the issue of baptism. All she ever knew was what her church taught her. This study is the fruit of three months of my wife and I sitting down to work through what the Bible has to say on this subject. Do you know someone who believes that water baptism is a part of being saved or essential to being saved? Do you know someone who has turned this wonderful picturesque act of obedience for the believer into a means of saving grace? Groups that would hold to this view are; The Church of Christ, Roman Catholicism, and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormons) to name a few. How do you respond biblically to the claims of these groups? They all point to God's Word for support but does it really teach that water baptism has an effect on our salvation? In this study we examine the major passages in the debate like 1 Peter 3:21 where we're told, "Baptism now saves you" and John 3:5 where Jesus says we must be "born of water and the Spirit." It also uses the Word of God to answer the questions, "What is the Baptism of the Holy Spirit?" and "Is water baptism a work?" I hope you are blessed by this resource.*All proceeds go to support my wife and I as we are at seminary.

- One Youth Pastor's Lessons Learned in Church Revitalization
153,95 kr. Are you called to be a pastor? Are you a new pastor entering your first small church ministry? If so you will or are likely entering a church in need of revitalization. My goal is reduce the culture shock of the bright-eyed and bushy-tailed new or recent pastor who has a vision for pastoral ministry but may not be prepared for what lies ahead, the challenges he will face, and how God plans to use him, refine him, and mature him in this role. I will attempt to do this by sharing my one year experience as a youth pastor in church revitalization ministry at a small Southern Baptist church combined with what I have learned in my study of revitalization. I do so however from the perspective of the Non-Denominational Bible Church culture and biblical convictions from which I came. So this account is not only for aspiring and new pastors but for my brothers in Non-Denominational Bible Church Movement who would benefit from some insight in how to lead change in a dying church.

- Straightforward Principles For Understanding God's Word
98,95 kr. All those who truly desire to know God better will and must also desire to know His Word. Jesus prayed in John 17:17, "Sanctify them in truth. Your Word is truth." It was the desire of Jesus that all those who follow Him be sanctified by the very words of God. In this short book, I boil down the most helpful and practical principles I have learned from my biblical education so that any believer will have the tools they need to study the Bible for themselves. I also provide examples to illustrate the various principles discussed. Entire books have been written about each of the various parts of which I am going to discuss, but I worked hard to make this a concise resource that will set you on your path to knowing God's Word.

- A Simple Approach To Helping Others From a Biblical Perspective
118,95 kr. How many times have you had friends, family, church members, or coworkers share a problem with you or ask for your advice about something? Maybe there's someone in your sphere of influence that you know is struggling or making poor choices in life, but you're unsure what to say or how to start, though your heart breaks to watch them head down the path they're on. Maybe you serve in a church or nonprofit context, regularly having opportunities to engage with and help others in your vocational ministry or volunteer service? This book is for every Christian who wants to better understand the inner dynamics of the human heart that become the problems you, I, and those around us are facing. This book is by no means exhaustive nor does it attempt to "have all the answers" to the problems we face, but it does intend to provide an overview of the subject of personal ministry/biblical counseling and seeks to offer a launching point through which we can begin to discover the roots of the problems people face and help them address these in a biblical way rather than being left to simply manage symptoms. The book will also help readers to begin to engage with the counseling world, use discernment in evaluating other forms of counseling, and it provides resource recommendations for further study.

- and other Stories of Borderline Redemption
173,95 kr. The knot had been there from the beginning. Tension, over time, had drawn it tighter. It was hard as a walnut and about the size of a child's fist, a minor imperfection breaking the smooth surface of the rope. Discover the quiet beauty in Joseph Schmidt's haunting new collection, The Torchbearer. Told through the course of twenty-one enchanting stories, this unique compilation introduces unrelated characters who nevertheless share in the humanity that connects us all. In a world that is both subtly whimsical and vividly real, issues of isolation, faith, and regret are probed in the hopes of encouraging the readers' own existential explorations. From the split-second decision that changes everything in the book's title story, each brief encounter with these intriguing characters evokes a sense of wholeness that somehow exceeds the sum of its parts. Schmidt's sharp but versatile voice shines through in The Torchbearer, uniting each individual story and inviting readers to embrace the unknown in others, in nature, and in ourselves.
