Most of us think too much of death and dying and too little of heaven. The key to losing our fears about dying lies in learning more about what the scriptures have told us about life on the other side. Many of us are familiar with some of the scriptural teachings about heaven but have not contemplated them through the exercise of our imagination. The more thought we give heaven, the more we realize that this temporal life which we love so much is only the slightest foretaste of things, infinitely better, bigger, more fulfilling and more filled with love.

I love to speak with people who have been married a long, long time and ask them what lessons they have learned about how to build a strong marriage. In these brief chapters, Susan and I have shared the foundational principles that have, by God's grace, enabled us to learn lessons of love that keep us close to one another, grateful, and always learning from one another. The discovery of gold in the Witwatersrand hills and the Transvaal region of South Africa sparked a rush in the late 1880s.
