148,95 kr. The Seed of Race by Sir John Woodroffe was first published in 1919. IN the discussions, now happily current, as regards the nature of, and necessity for, the preservation of racial culture in India, and the nature of the education which should be given towards that end, it is necessary to understand quite clearly what is meant by the term Racial Soul. For if this is understood we have the key to the settlement of the dispute between those extreme Conservatives who would maintain the status quo in all respects, those extreme Radicals who would subvert Hindu civilization and substitute for it European institutions and culture, and those who, following a middle path, recognize both the necessity of adaptation to present circumstances and needs, and of basing such adaptation on cultural principles which have come down from a remote past.

196,95 kr. Bharati Shakti: Essays and Addresses on Indian Culture by Sir John Woodroffe first published in 1917.India is not a mere geographical expres¬sion nor a mere congeries of people, who happen to be on this particular part of the Earth's surface, but who might as well have been elsewhere. India is an Idea. It is a particular Shakti, the Bharata Shakti, distinguished from all others by Her own peculiar nature and qualities. No home is a truly Indian Home, which is not Her expression. The basis of all culture and the maker of all nationality is Religion. This is the root and trunk of the great Tree of Life with many branches, amongst which the chief are those of Philosophy and Art, of Knowledge and Beauty. May the great and wonderful antique life of India be re-born in the forms of to-day."

- Essays and Addresses on the Sakta Tantrasastra
288,95 kr. THE present work deals with its subject only in a very general and, as far as the matter permits, popular way. I refer those who wish to pursue it further to the other works on Tantra sastra which are published under the name Arthur Avalon to denote that they have been written with the direct co-operation of others and in particular with the assistance of one of my friends who will not permit me to mention his name. I do not desire sole credit for what is as much their work as mine. I, in particular, refer my reader to the series of Articles on the Mantra sastra which I wrote . In this last there is given, for the first time, the rationale of Yoga through the Kundalin akti, the outlines of which are indicated in Chapter XVI of this volume.

243,95 kr. This work is a description and explanation in fuller detail of the Serpent Power (Kundali Shakti), and the Yoga effected through it, a subject occupying a pre-eminent place in the T a n t r a Shastra. It consists of a translation of two Sanskrit works published some years ago in t h e second volume of my series of Tantrik Texts, but hitherto untranslated. The first, entitled " S h a t c h a k r a n i r u p a n a " ("Description of and Investigation into t h e Six Bodily Centres"), has as its author the celebrated Tantrik P u r n a - nanda Svami, a short note on whose life is given later. It forms t h e sixth chapter of his extensive and unpublished work on Tantrik Ritual entitled " S h r i t a t t v a c h i n t a m a n i " .

- Essays on Addresses on The SAKTA TANTRASASTRA
278,95 kr. Agama, which governs according to its followers the Kali-yuga, is itself divided into several schools or communities of worshippers. One of these divisions is the Shakta. It is with Shakta doctrine and worship, one of the forms of Brahmanism, which is again a form of the general Bharata Dharma, that this book deals. The Shakta is so called because he is a worshipper of Shakti (Power), that is, God in Mother-form as the Supreme Power which creates, sustains and withdraws the universe. His rule of life is Shaktadharma, his doctrine of Shakti is Shaktivada or Shakta Darshana. God is worshipped as the Great Mother because, in this aspect, God is active, and produces, nourishes, and maintains all. Theological Godhead is no more female than male or neuter. God is Mother to the Sadhaka who worships Her Lotus Feet, the dust on which are millions of universes. The Power, or active aspect of the immanent God, is thus called Shakti.
