- A Footnote to the History of the Vietnam War
128,95 kr. The war in Vietnam essentially began in 1964 in response to what the American government claimed was an unprovoked attack upon two U.S. naval ships, the destroyers USS Maddox (DD-731) and USS Turner Joy (DD-951), while they were steaming peacefully on the high seas in the Gulf of Tonkin off Vietnam. Although there was a U.S. military presence in Vietnam before that, the Tonkin events led to congressional action which allowed President Lyndon Johnson (and, later, President Richard Nixon) to escalate our military presence enormously and to wage war not only in Vietnam but also covertly in Southeast Asia. Among the many books written on the Vietnamese war, half a dozen note a 1967 letter to the editor of a Connecticut newspaper which was instrumental in pressuring the Johnson administration to tell the truth about how the war was started. The letter was mine. It became, in the words of one author, "a national sensation." Actually, that was an understatement. It became an international sensation. On the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of the Gulf of Tonkin events, this is an account of my role and its aftermath, both personal and political. - From the Foreword

- The Complete Guide To Building Your Own Chicken Coop
253,95 kr. "The chicken coop plans I got from you were great! They were easy to follow and the coop turned out to be the envy of all of my friends. I love my new hobby. Thanks so much for giving me every thing you promised."David Hess, USA This comprehensive book contains the top ten most popular chicken coop plans for the author's website www.ChickenCoopGuides.com. ChickenCoopGuides.com is one of the most popular sites on the Internet for coop design and information because of its practical, easy-to-follow advice. The author and builder, John White, has combined his ten most popular chicken coop designs into one book, and he's also added practical coop information and explanations about each feature. More than six thousand chicken farmers have purchased these plans for two reasons: 1. They're so simple to build that even a novice woodworker can build them in a single weekend, and an experienced pro can tell at a glance what to do next. Most designs require a wood shop full of tools and a lot of experience with construction. Not these designs! 2. Cost matters to us all. These designs are not only easy to build; they're easy on your budget. You can use wood you have already, or find or purchase all the supplies you'll need without spending a fortune. Easy, affordable and professional. It doesn't get any better than that. In addition, you'll also learn: What you need to consider before selecting and building your coop and why placement of the coop is so important to your family as well as your chickens. Once you understand why you're building the coop a certain way you'll see why these designs are perfect for anyone who wants happy, healthy chickens. The basic essentials of chicken coops, like: roosts, ramps, ventilation, nesting boxes, chicken runs, what makes the best (and safest) chicken litter, hint-it's not straw. Why you need to slant the top of your nesting box, and why it needs to be off of the floor of the coop, but not higher than your roosting perches. When you understand why a feature is important you're more able to determine how changing, expanding or even eliminating that feature may affect your flock. And finally, find out what makes the best wire (it's not chicken wire) for wrapping your coops run in to make it the safest it can be.

148,95 kr. Science and faith are not opposed to each other! The fact is, you cannot have one without the other. Most technologists, scientists and engineers learn and use the scientific method in their jobs. The scientific method acknowledges before a hypothesis can be made, the inventor needs to have an idea outside the scientific body. Unfortunately, technical curriculums do not teach how to receive and process a intuition, dream or gut feel. As a result, few people in tech jobs know how to get inspiration nor how to take inspiration to the next level where it's merits can be evaluated through a scientific process.Scientific inspiration is a hot topic in business today. Many articles on the subject focus on creative productivity which has little to do with creativeness itself and in some cases, their recommendations undermine scientific creativity. New science requires an hypothesis that is usually generated from a non-scientific process, one that includes inspiration and faith that the idea is worth pursuing despite the current science that opposes it.Many Christians are already trained in the inspiration processes that include divine inspiration, unpacking nonverbal messages and translating them for a person, team, organization or even our society. These same skills are useful to translate dreams, visions and other inspirations to develop scientific hypothesis' that, once developed by the scientific method, will advance science and technology. These principles are illustrated throughout the book as an example of unpacking divine inspiration and communicating that inspiration to a scientific team. The key example is a prophetic dream that enabled an analysis of a flight critical system on the International Space Station and saved millions of dollars.

73,95 kr. This mini-book is a chapter from my forthcoming book Enlightenment 101: A Guide to God-Realization and Higher Human Culture. It looks at the experience of enlightenment for the individual and the race. Its subtitle is "Practical Spirituality and Applied Wisdom for Everyday Life." This chapter-letter responded to a 21-year-old college student who wrote to me in a desperate state. He expressed an "unshakable fear of death and absence of God" which left him "totally miserable and confused" because all his ideas about God, life and the universe were in profound doubt. I've identified him only by the first letter in his name to preserve his privacy.

- A Guide for the Spiritually Aspiring Female
78,95 kr. If you're a spiritually aspiring woman seeking enlightenment, this book can help you overcome a gender-based obstacle on your spiritual path. The obstacle is this: you need to assimilate your opposite gender-nature as part of the process of ascent in consciousness to the nondual state. Failure to recognize and acknowledge the existence of a part of yourself which is psychologically masculine can be a stumbling block. Men and women each have male and female traits which must to be integrated for balance, stability and further personal growth. My comments are offered as guidance and instruction for that.

128,95 kr. This short guide contains information about the most common chicken diseases & illnesses from the author's website www.ChickenCoopGuides.com. ChickenCoopGuides.com is one of the most popular sites on the Internet for anything chicken related because of its practical, easy-to-follow advice and chicken coop plans. Since we're city people we can't have chickens where we live. We're 'part-timers' at my mother-in-law's farm out in the country every weekend. That's why I'm so glad I had the chance to preview this book on chicken illnesses and diseases. I don't feel like I'm there often enough to be an expert and this makes me feel like one. I've got a 24 hour live chicken cam that we watch sometimes (dreaming of our retirement where we can see them every day) and we've been able to use that to get to know the chickens better. Earlier this week I was able to spot a hen acting funny and based on this I suspected it was a cold and it was. My mother-in-law has been giving her garlic and greens and things all week and I think that chicken is going to be OK. I also love the reading recommendations included at the end. This guide is a jumping point to becoming an expert and it gives you all the tools you need to do just that. Thanks again, John! Bob Newcastle - Astoria, NY

- Beyond Western Civilization to Global Community
78,95 kr. This mini-book is a chapter from my forthcoming book Enlightenment 101: A Guide to God-Realization and Higher Human Culture. The book looks at the experience of enlightenment for the individual and the race. This chapter was begun in dialogue with an online correspondent who argued against what she said is my Eurocentric perspective on culture and in favor of the actions of some environmental extremists seeking to halt Western civilization. It continued with a friend who disputed my claim for the inherent superiority of America in the process of cultural evolution. It begins: Dear C: You disagree with me when I criticize the environmental movement for magical thinking and what Ken Wilber calls retro-romanticism or a yearning for innocence and simplicity through the naive belief that it can be attained via regression to a childish state. Magical thinking, as defined by psychologists, is a stage of the developmental process in children. At an early time in life, before they have attained the capacity for logical, rational thought and formal mental operations, children think in terms characterized by fantasy and by ignorance of various natural laws, such as cause-and-effect in physics. In magical thinking, inanimate objects can become living and personified, the laws of physics suspended, and childish wishing elevated to the status of a cosmic principle...
