148,95 kr.

J. I. Packer La vie par sa mort (The Death of Death in the Death of Christ) a été publié en 1647. He afterwards changed his views on church-government; but in the work on schism, to which we have just referred, he declares that, on the subjects under discussion in this treatise, his principles had undergone no essential change: "When I compare what I then wrote with my present judgment, I am scarce able to find the least difference between the one and the other."

414,95 kr. The Skeptics of the Italian Renaissance is a book written by John Owen that delves into the philosophy of skepticism during the Renaissance period in Italy. The book explores the works of prominent skeptics such as Michel de Montaigne, Francesco Guicciardini, and Francesco Petrarch, and how they challenged the traditional beliefs of their time. Owen discusses how these skeptics questioned the authority of the Catholic Church, the validity of classical texts, and the nature of knowledge itself. The book also examines the impact of skepticism on literature, art, and politics during the Renaissance. Overall, The Skeptics of the Italian Renaissance offers a comprehensive analysis of the skeptical movement in Italy and its influence on the intellectual and cultural landscape of the time.1908. The author of this volume has a deliberate and very earnest purpose in view. He regards skepticism, with all allied forms of philosophical thought and method such as eclecticism, as likely to claim a far greater sphere of energy in the future than it has in the past. This, too, is in the domain not of theology only, but of philosophy and science as well. For these reasons he regards this work as possessing the extremely useful merit of opportuneness. It responds, indirectly, but not the less completely, to various indications and signs and forecasts which appear to announce a free and skeptical awakening and reenergizing of human speculation. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
