  • - A selection of 200 special, challenging puzzles with a step-by-step guide to their solution
    af John Austin
    118,95 kr.

For a sudoku puzzle to have a single solution it needs to have at least 17 clues, although many puzzles in books and magazines typically have as many as 25 clues. You might therefore expect that 17-clue Sudokus are very challenging, and indeed some of them are. In practice they can be tackled with some easily learnt methods which reveal the puzzles to have their own special characteristics. This book continues on from the same author's "World of Sudoku" and explains the methods needed for Sudoku-17 puzzles. Two hundred 17-clue Sudokus, rated according to difficulty, are also included with solutions. The Author, Dr. John Austin, has over 30 years' scientific research experience on the upper atmosphere and has also been involved in the writing of numerous international reports for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. In recent years, John has broadened his work into popular science and puzzles, and in 2014 he created an internet scientific publishing business Enigma Scientific Publishing, http: //www.enigmascientific.com.

  • - Beginners guide to brain secrets. Have a body language mastery to analyze and influence others. The basics of psychology 101.
    af John Austin
    98,95 kr.

Are you misunderstood? If you are, it may no bet the words you use but the way you move.Want to boost your confidence with the skills you already have?Reading other people's body language is an ability we learn throughout our lives. It's an automatic process as we calculate other's inner thoughts through their nonverbal movements. That's without even knowing we're doing it. Though it does work both ways, others judge us in the same way. But you can learn how to take control of revealing such clues about your inner thoughts. You can also learn to understand how to read other people's thoughts. Know them better than they know themselves.Wrapped up within the concept of body language are the notions of reading and projecting. In communication, we are sending a message; however, that message is only successful when it is correctly interpreted and responded to. This implies that the sender must use clear body language signals to convey their message. This is called projection. Only once the person who is on the other end of the connection has interpreted the combination of signals and responded as desired can we state that the message was successfully delivered or read. By using the biological feedback mechanism, where we interpret a constant stream of signals from those we communicate with, we can adapt our own body language techniques to be more persuasive. The persuasive power contained in that interaction is immeasurable. One person asks with their body, while the other reacts favorably, and this creates trust and is the beginning of persuasion. Therefore, we can safely say that this bodily persuasion is a science due to the measurable effects, and the system of definitions which governs its implementation. We can see body language, we can define its components and how to use them. But this persuasive power extends so much further than simply concluding a transaction or interaction with another party. It also includes our interactions with ourselves. We can manipulate our feelings by moving or arranging our bodies. Body language can help diagnose our emotional states, warn of psychological episodes, and help alleviate the desperate effects of a range of mental disorders. It's a way to physically reach and interact with the intangible emotional states of man. It's also perhaps the most effective way to persuade the intangible emotions in a physical way with concrete signs of success. There is no pill for self-confidence. Sure, we can treat depression and other conditions with medication to increase neurotransmitters or inhibit them; but, we can't fix people. The persuasive power of body language allows people to take control of their lives, and be responsible for their interactions with the world. In the past, we used to hide behind the excuse of "I'm not responsible for how others see me," but this no longer holds water. We are responsible for how we are seen since we are in control of our body language and the persuasive image that it projects. Thus, it is safe to say that we create the way in which we want people to see us. To become better at choosing a body language system that will open doors in your life, it is essential to first see yourself so that you can learn what you look like to others and how to change your projections to improve your interaction with others.Body language can, through training and evaluation, help people be effective in all walks of life, at work, home, and in relationships. The persuasive power of body language can even improve our relationship with ourselves by improving our trust in ourselves and in others. In this book, you will learn more about: Psychology 101Learning to interpret body languageTwo Hemispheres of our BrainEvaluation criteriaNFJTricks to focus the mindTypes of communicationBrain and body language perceptionBody language and hidden meaningNot verbal communicationCharisma... A work that has had a profound influence on the study of English and American law, The Province of Jurisprudence Determined is a model of rigorous and clear analysis. With its publication Austin brought order to the disparate elements of a legal profession that up until his time was largely unsystematic. Although he was greatly respected by a small circle of supporters, including Jeremy Bentham and John Stuart Mill, his work received little attention beyond his friends during his lifetime. It was only after Austin's death that his writings began to attract general notice. Then his analysis became the focal point for strong disagreements over the true nature of law, the definition of law as a form of command with implied sanctions, and the problem of differentiating legal authority, political power, and morality. The later fame of his work appears to have resulted from the controversies it generated.Perhaps Austin's most significant contribution was to make a clear distinction between "positive law" (i.e., laws decreed by the sovereign or government) and moral principles (which he terms the "law of God"). In so doing he defined the field of inquiry for later students. Also of interest is the influence of utilitarian philosophy on his analysis: for example, he viewed the principle of social utility as a benchmark for discerning God's commands and hence for judging the overall moral quality of rules of conduct.Whether one agrees or disagrees with Austin's analysis, it is clear that his work is now established as indispensable for all discussions of jurisprudence.

  • - Making complicated problems simple by really going metric
    af John Austin
    228,95 kr.

The book explains how the metric system is a superbly designed set of units which enables us to measure everything imaginable. Mass, length, time, and temperature are just the start. It explores ways that the metric system is an aid to the easy calculation of a host of practical problems and explains how painstaking work by talented scientists over decades has produced a practical and cultural legacy that rivals fine art for its beauty. The alternative, the Imperial set of units or US customary units are frequently shown to be confusing and inadequate. Yet their use persists in certain places. The book is published ahead of Britain's 50 year old commitment to the metric system but that commitment is half-hearted at best. The USA and Canada (less so) continue to use inadequate units, in many cases to their detriment. The book is an encouragement to those still using Imperial units to convert to metric. It is also of interest to those who already exclusively use metric units to see where developments in making measurements can impinge on our daily lives and where the future of these units lie. The book consists of 18 Chapters in plain language and with some mathematics which is easily skipped if desired. Dozens of figures illustrating specific points of interest are included together with numerous references to the supporting material. An extract which includes the Contents and Chapter 1 (Introduction) can be downloaded from the author's website http: //www.enigmascientific.com. The Author, Dr. John Austin, has over 30 years' research experience on the upper atmosphere and has published over 80 papers in numerous international scientific journals. In addition John worked for 4 years as an Editor of the Journal of Geophysical Research, the premier Geophysics journal in the USA. He has spent several years working in the USA, at NASA Langley, Hampton, virginia (1984-1985) and the University of Washington (1988-1990), where amongst other things he met his future wife Alda, to whom he is still married. During 2003-2011 John worked in Princeton, NJ, USA. His main scientific contribution has been to show the connection between ozone depletion and climate change. John has been involved in the writing of numerous international reports for the World Meteorological Organisation and The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, for which the IPCC received the 2007 Nobel peace prize. In recent years, John has broadened his work into popular science, through the website http: //www.DecodedScience.com and in 2014 he created an internet scientific publishing business Enigma Scientific Publishing, http: //www.enigmascientific.com. He has always had an interest in our unit system and the science of measurement, and the book "Measuring the World" is his first popular science book. When not working, John enjoys a variety of activities including chess, running, photography and travel. He has become addicted to sudoku, and that will be his next book!

  • - Beginners guide to mastering the best NLP and psychology techniques, to improve empathy and the art of seduction and attraction.
    af John Austin
    108,95 kr.

Do you want to learn how to master the best NLP and psychology techniques, to improve empathy and the art of seduction and attraction? If yes, then keep reading...An individual who regards himself as an influencer will often try to help a person in one manner or another only in general. The manipulators are a reverse opposite since their purpose is to regulate their victims secretly for their own gain, mostly without consideration for their victim. Therefore, in the difference between whether or not a specific action is of a manipulative nature, intention is something important to consider. More generally speaking, situations, where this type of manipulation can be used, are within the scope of the private, professional, romantic and family life of an individual. Romantic covert emotional manipulation is undoubtedly the most lethal and common type of emotional manipulation. Just like these prevalent cases where it is frequently manifested, there are also some prevalent kinds of people who express the thoughts that support covert emotional manipulation. The trick to understanding this theory fully will require one to be able to find a relationship between this complex theory to the actual individual portrayals of its ideas. One such example of these personal portrayals of stealthy manipulation is in the broad field of relationships. In one way or another, the victim of this attempted control often chooses to leave said relationship since that is a line crossed. It is because of this very reason that, that most manipulators decide not to be open on their approach but instead approach manipulation in a very clandestine manner. The victim often gets subjected to complete emotional manipulation, without having to realize what is going on. This is often beneficial to the manipulator since he is able to get his heart's desire of controlling another person while at the same time managing not to lose the victim. There will be no singing le clue to the friend in this scenario as to whether they are being manipulated. Because of this impact, the victim may not usually be able to understand why they may feel or behave towards the so-called "friend" in some manner. The most delicate situation we will discuss is the family dynamic scenario. This is an extremely difficult situation since, because they share blood, one could never suspect a family member. Being manipulated by one's own flesh and blood usually has serious server outcomes for a victim because of the level and intensity they are likely to be influenced by. The issue we are asking ourselves is how these manipulators succeed in inculcating such extreme amounts of control over their victims. Usually this is seen to be implemented using several otherwise diabolical tactics that are both difficult to identify and difficult to withstand. In this book, you will learn more about: -Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP)?-Learning how to recognize and acknowledge the problem-Methods of mind control-Characteristics of manipulators-Psychological manipulation-Primary types of analysis-The Most Powerful Mind-Power Tool-How To Improve Your People Reading Skills-... • - How to learn all techniques of the art of persuasion, improve your skills, understand psychology and influence people.
    af John Austin
    108,95 kr.

Do you want to learn all techniques of the art of persuasion, improve your skills, understand psychology and influence people? If yes, then keep reading...We are always selling something every day, be it trying to sell our services when going for an interview or during a garage sale. While we are always selling something, how can you make the difference and be that salesperson that can always make a sale each time they speak to a customer? Before you can learn about all the techniques you need to have to be a successful salesperson, it is also advisable to practice a few ethics. The key to being a successful sales person is to be in a position to convince someone to buy without any tricks. I mean, by the time you are done talking to a potential customer, they are supposed to simply think that they can't leave without what you are selling; that's when you will know that you can sell anything. What most sales people don't understand is that sales is not about manipulating but rather about your art of persuasion. If you are relying on manipulation, then you have it all wrong because while you can fool many people most of the time, you cannot fool everyone all the time so your days are numbered as people will eventually see right through your manipulation. The art of persuasion is what is going to get you over the top. So, what is the difference between manipulation and persuasion? While persuasion relies on truly convincing someone that a certain purchase will benefit them, manipulation relies on using tricks in order to make a sale. You should also not use puffery if you want to be a successful sales person. Puffery simply refers to expanding the truth beyond a certain line. If you are good, persuasion is all that you need to be the best sales person; no need for tricks. As you attempt to make a sale, you need to avoid lying since once a consumer realizes that you lied, that is basically the end of you. Trust me; any costumer who has been conned into buying something that was a total opposite of what you told them will definitely not be the smiling type. While lying may make you make a sale now, your lies will be uncovered and when that time comes, you may be out of the job. Most important of all, if a customer asks you about a question and you don't know the answer just be honest rather than saying something that does not make sense. You will be amazed that a customer will appreciate your honesty. Furthermore, customers are likely to buy products and services from sales people who look honest. Now that you know a few things that you can do and those that you cannot do if you want to be a successful sales person, let us discuss how you will be able to reach a point where you can sell anything. In this book, you will learn more about: -Principles Of Persuasion-Sales Persuasion-NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming)-NLP Techniques To Influence People-Halo Effect-Traps of persuasion-Suggestion And Persuasion Techniques-Types Of Suggestions-Why You Need Both Persuasion And Influence To Succeed-Mind Reading-The Persuasive Power Of Fear-Ten Ways To Positively Influence Others In Your Workplace-Undetectable Mind Control-Influence Through Seduction-How To Convince Someone Of Your Opinion-How To Stop Fearing Judgment-... Do you wish you could create an amazing environment where your team can do their best work AND feel safe, connected, and valued? You can transform your leadership with these five easy steps. Behavioral psychologist and human performance expert Dr. John Austin has asked leaders around the world what they most want and need in their teams . . . and most leaders want their people to feel they belong, feel psychologically and physically safe, feel inspired, feel excited to be at work, and feel they are working productively and with purpose. Leaders implement processes and procedures, develop training, create strategic plans, and explain in increasing detail what to do . . . and yet, somehow, the work culture often does not improve. The problem is the false assumption that knowing something means that you will do it. And thousands of well-meaning, smart, and hardworking leaders make this mistake every day. Honed over twenty-five years and on more than 10,000 projects, Austin's RESULTS: The Science-Based Approach to Better Productivity, Profitability, and Safety is a practical guide to becoming a more effective leader by leveraging behavioral science and shows you how to achieve real, lasting results more easily than you ever thought possible.
