Der Autor entwickelt eine erstmals geschlossene Konzeption der rechnergestützten Qualitätssicherung (CAQ) und beschreibt deren Einbindung in die CIM-Umgebung (PPS/CAD/CAP/CAM). Die Ausgestaltung der Qualitätssicherung orientiert sich an den konfliktären Zielsetzungen "Geringe Kostenverursachung" und "Hoher Wirkungsgrad". In der Arbeit wird der Beitrag des EDV-Einsatzes zur Auflösung des daraus resultierenden Dilemmas der traditionellen Qualitätssicherung untersucht. Hierzu werden neben den technisch-organisatorischen insbesondere die wirtschaftlichen Aspekte einer CAQ-Implementierung herausgestellt. Das breite Spektrum der CAQ-Rechnerunterstützung wird durch die Bildung von Produktionstypen anhand alternativer Ausprägungen der Strukturmerkmale Prozeßtyp, Produktart, Beschaffungsmodus, Automatisierungsgrad sowie Unternehmensgröße und den daraus resultierenden spezifischen CAQ-Einsatzschwerpunkten veranschaulicht. Die Entwicklung einer idealtypischen CAQ-Konzeption wird ergänzt durch die Untersuchung eines CAQ-Systems in einem Unternehmen der Automobilzulieferindustrie sowie die Analyse der Möglichkeiten zu dessen Ausbau.
