Priscilla, a young, wealthy Chicago widow and Tim, a poor Alabama soldier, will fall in love. This budding love affair has to wait, however, until Priscilla has proof that her attorney husband is dead. This gripping story about two individuals from different backgrounds brought together by bizarre events. Priscilla, beautiful, reared in wealth married in her teens to an older attorney, whose law practice, she found out later, was defending the social scum of the 1920s, crooked politicians, fight promoters and bank robbers. Tim comes from a hard-working, poor northeast Alabama farming folk. He is handsome and bright. As the plot unfolds, Priscilla's attorney husband is mysteriously killed and his body is never recovered. The suspected killers are found by the police in the Arizona desert. A gun battle with police ensues and one suspected killer dies. The other suspect is captured, but escapes and is recaptured two time before he is brought to trial. From the first meeting, Priscilla and Tim are attracted to each other. On one occasion, Priscilla gives Tim some law journals to read. In one of them, Tim finds the plans for a bank robbery. He begins to investigate the recent past and finds condemning answers. Tim is falling more deeply in love. Out of respect for her station in life, he keeps his tender feeling from Priscilla. The ending is a gripper!

The 3rd Platoon was written by an Infantry Platoon Leader who was among the first American soldiers to see combat during the Korean conflict. War was never declared and the action taken was by United Nation Forces. The hostilities were considered to be only a police action in a effort to stop the spread of Communism. This conflict may not have been an all out war but it is declared as one of the bloodiest conflicts of modern times. Soldiers of several nations were involved fighting under the authority of the United Nations. Most weapons of modern times were employed and millions of people were killed, wounded or missing. Other millions of people were displaced. United Nation Forces consisted primarily of soldiers from South Korea, England, Canada, Australia, Turkey and the United States. There were scattered support from other nations but the United states furnished a majority of the troops and cost of this conflict. Enemy forces consisted of; North Korea, China and a sprinkling of Russian airmen

The novel is based on truth and tells the story of a young man accused of a crime that he did not commit. It tells of bitter months of hatred towards his accuser, the judge and prison officials. He had nothing but hatred towards the system and was totally unhappy. It wasn't until he was able to forgive his accuser, his public defender and the judge that sentenced him to twenty years in prison that his life began to change. In time he became a model prisoner and was able to face his situation without hatred controlling him. His desire to clear his name and become a person of respectability generated thought of freedom and escape from prison. He dreamed of finding the guilty party and having the court reverse his conviction. His intentions were good, but the action he took branded him a "Prisoner on the run."
