These haikus deviate innintions from the traditional Japanese style while they try to follow the presctobed 5-7-5 rhythym. They are short thoughts which came to me biking my torturous miles or, sometimes, at the very early morning before I opened my eyes. They are reminiscence of everything, natural events, snapshot from books o read, some are even tinted political, because trooting in Keys hamok I can't escape. Celebrated Navigation is a selection of stories from Jarda Cervenka's first three collections (Mal d'Afrique, Revenge of Underwaterman, and Fausto's Afternoon) with two new stories added.

Jarda Cervenka's fifth collection of stories ranges from gold panning in the jungles of Colombia to fossil hunting on Corsica and sailing off the Florida Keys. But at the center of the collection is Prague, Cervenka's home town, which he fled in the wake of the Soviet invasion of 1968-an event recounted in his story "Tanks and Quantum Mechanics in 1968".
