It's the story of a small boy growing up in a warm family in the forties and early fifties. It chronicles the rise of the baby boomers. It discusses their parental relationships and the social norms that inform and shape the attitudes of a cohort that is taught never to grow old. Only the last chapter, Spermarch, deals directly with the subject of sexual awakening. A prelude to Part 2, it sees our hero nearly overwhelmed by adolescence as he unknowingly prepares for a time in which men and women can experience sex without fear. As you read this, there are hundreds of plays being performed Off- and Off-Off-Broadway in New York City. In churches, store fronts, basements, bars, closets, cafe-toriums, drawing rooms, restaurants, entry halls, bedrooms, supper clubs, maybe a tiny theater or two, and any other space that can hold a few chairs, someone is acting their heart out, hoping against hope to attract enough attention to keep going. Since April of 2018, we've written one hundred thirty-seven reviews of works chosen almost entirely at random. We saw things that were absolutely amazing (some playing only once), competing with dozens of other performances going on every minute. An enormous amount of superb theater work is vanishing every day. We need to keep a record. This book is a small beginning, a miniscule selection of the vast number of dramas, comedies, musicals, readings, improvisations, concerts and operas available to us every day-certainly, an embarrassment of riches. Most of these works won't be remembered; a few, will. For a moment in 2018, however, each one came alive. I hope I've been able to capture the brilliance of some of those shining moments in these pages.

Over the following years, the Kid experiences all of the sexual revolution: starting in the 40s, when sex isn't mentioned; through the 50s, when there isn't any; into the 60s and 70s, when it never stops; until the eighties, when it morphs into a fatal disease. The world turns upside down, intercourse is no longer the point. Players direct their sexual energy into elaborate games; enacting detailed erotic scenarios in which the sex goes on forever and pornography sets the standard.

A significant part of this shifting landscape has been an increasing emphasis on settling private family disputes out of court, which has been embraced by policy-makers, judges and practitioners alike and is promoted as an unqualified good.Mapping Paths to Family Justice: Resolving Family Disputes in Neoliberal Times examines the experiences of people taking part in out-of-court family dispute resolution in England and Wales. It addresses questions such as how participants¿ experiences match up to the ideal; how recent changes to the legal system have affected people¿s ability to access out-of-court dispute resolution; and what kind of outcomes are achieved in family dispute resolution.This book is the first study systematically to compare different forms of family dispute resolution. It explores people¿s experiences of solicitor negotiations, mediation and collaborative law empirically by analyzing findings from a nationally representative survey, individual in-depth interviews with parties and practitioners, and recorded family dispute resolution processes. It considers these in the context of ongoing neoliberal reforms to the family justice system, drawing out conclusions and implications for policy and practice.
